can we just talk about how under appreciated SONYA is in this movie. lets start with she had to deal with losing Johnny, processing that, keeping a level head whilst being hunted, and being the voice of reason literally. She knew not too trust Jade and was the first one to call out raiden on his bs. On top of that she's literally the only earthrealm warrior that was actively in the field and killing the invaders. While Jax was fighting Cyrax she took on all the henchmen ALONE. Then still had to kill Cyrax and save jax. She killed Mileena with no help from anyone. And she took on Ermac alone and was WINNING opposed to everyone else who started off losing against their last opponent. It wasn't until she got double teamed that she needed help. Which only was just for script purposes to get her to "need help" which she hardly ever needs. and once Help came she finished and kill Ermac as well. Liu Kang is the only other person to "kill" someone Baraka kicked in the fire and Sheeva which was due to her being under the cage. My girl literally needs her flowers. Literally sit back and just watch this movie in its entirety and tell me She wasn't the MVP of the group.

Looking at it now, it seems like they had Ermac use Noob Saibots ability to summon someone else to assist in the fight (Noob could summon his shadow in kombat like he could in UMK3 and Trilogy). Yeah, some of the characters weren't written well. Smoke was another example. He could use missiles in this movie whereas he had the spear in the games. Sektor was the one who could use missiles, but he was left out of the movie altogether.

The fight choreography and the sound trick. Literally the only good things about the movie. The way the plot set out and the way scenes were edited were bad but if you like martial arts films the fight scenes and love for mortal kombat brings you back every time

I still love this movie too! I was 6 when this first came out. I notice a lot of the mistakes now but I still enjoy watching this. Annihilation wasn't perfect but it's definitely nowhere close to being as bad as people make it sound.
