I agree with you on that. I feel that after Terminator 2, James Cameron should have made one or two more movies just dedicated to the original future war. Showing us how John Conner saved people from the prision camps, taking command of the resistance forces against the machines, & ultimately showing us how he lead them to victory. Then the part where skynet used the time machine, he could show us that he sent the two protectors back in time on the same time line, Kyle Reese & the T-800. Then the movie would end showing how the future was slowing rebuilding itself. Terminator Resistance did a great job on that.

no necessarily, it depends on which time travel theory you put in use 🤔 I like to think of this as a multi-verse time travel, where everytime you go back in time, you end up in parallel universe actually. because in this one here, Skynet is down, and no T-1000 nor T-X can be developed and send back in time. hence in this one, no Terminator 2 nor Terminator 3 can exist. so I believe these movies are just spanning one after another. Terminator 1 happens, Skynet learns about the failure in THAT timeline's future and prepares a program to initiate T-1000 as a safe mechanism. then, in another timeline, both T-800 and T-1000 fail, Skynet learns of this again in that timeline's future and prepares both AND T-X as another fail-safe - and so on and so on.

best part of the whole movie. I love how they demonstrate how skynet wastes absolutely no time. non-functional unit = light it up and deploy all defense units perimeter breached = activate time machine and 101 it just shows perfectly that skynet is a machine, and is brutally efficient with zero lag time or overconfidence. Humans had to hit as fast and as hard as they possibly could each and every time they dared to stage an offensive. This was the future war we wanted and STILL haven't gotten... what a tease
@Eluzian86 Жыл бұрын
It just has one flaw. Destroying Skynet's mainframe wouldn't be the end of the war. If a Terminator can function after being sent through time, then every Terminator still functioning would continue trying to exterminate all humans. That's why they would have to rig the time machine to blow after sending the protectors back in time, because the remnants of Skynet's army would be closing in on recapturing the facility and they'd have to prevent the Machines from using it again.

Like how in younger years he looked like a blend of his parents' features maybe slightly more towards mom Sarah. Later on looking more like his dad Kyle. What I would be most interested in is how, if each time travel is an incursion into another offshoot timeline and a whole separate instance, where it all began where John was the patton and Kyle wasn't his father originally. The terminator saga cannot be a closed loop time travel, as-is with just t1 and t2, it's a bootstrap paradox.

@@wjzav1971 If I were a screen writter, I would have made a Terminator-3. It would have been about the Future War prequel to T-1. It would have been dark, gloomy and scary to give watchers PTSD. And the bunker Terminator scene would have been included. With this one single T-800 wiping out the entire bunker, full of soldiers, who weren't able to stop it, it shooting surgically precisely, being able to perfectly use obstacles to avoid being destroyed and Reese, managing to crawl away. And also getting into the control center, imitating a bunker leader's voice, making more units to fall into a trap. I would have shown rotten toothed, riddled with diseases humans, dressed in rags, eating rats, living misery (no cool fashionable haircuts, no sexy make up, no piercing, no fancy tattoos, no smartphones, because the War started in 1997) outnumbering machines heavily, but machines being infinitely better fighters. I would have shown how much lives it takes to obtain even one small victory. I would have shown human slaves, loading piles of bodies of killed resistance soldiers and putting them into Skynet incinerators to extract energy. There will be no waves of "skeleton-type" T-800 on the battlefield. Only inhuman looking, perfectly adapted for fighting, hunter-killers : different robo-tanks (with sensors-« eyes » not only in front but also on their backs), HK-drones, suicide-drones. The only purpose of designing and production of T-600,700,800 will be to be combat infiltrators. And nothing more. There will be no TX, no Rev-9, and other BS terminators. T-800 will be the newest. T-1000 will be the only one, very recently finalized, inactive prototype, activated only in the brink of a defeat of the Skynet as a last ditch effort to change the past. And all this Time-Machine being finished hastily, litterally hours before the defeat, having barely enough time to send two terminators before humans would have retaken it, sending Reese and previously captured one single unique T-800, kept for a very special occasion. Sending them almost in the midst of a fight, with the Time Machine being irrepairably damaged in the fight. I would have gone to the basics of Terminator (1984) I would have made Skynet appear an absolutely cold, emotionless, soulless, rationally thinking net of military computers, which somehow just bugged and it made them defend themselves instead of defending their creators, using their tech capabilities to learn and become even more efficient and smart. No Helena Bonham Carter evilishly screaming antopomorphical BS "Skynet". To boil it down, Skynet IS NOT a life-form. It is just an AI and nothing more.

Ok, I gotta admit - young Arnold, John and Sarah Connor's faces are really well made.

This now never happened ' John Connor died in Guatemala in 1998' the future was not set ' there is no fate other than what we make for ourselves ' t2 stopped all this ever happening ' the franchise should of been terminated after T2

Robert Adams This never happened to begin with in the original timeline, this movie was confirmed to be in an alternate reality.

Josiah Suarez yup your right big proof is John already knows about attacking skynet differently and not joining the Colorado defense and skynet said it’s gone a long way to get to John this shows that there had to have been many many timelines attempts and changes before this movie happened.

I agree with you it should *H A V E* ended at T2

Fact: Terminators shouldn't have switched off without Skynet! They had their own chip and battery. The pale shadow of two great films.
