MQTT is a message protocol. Tasmota Nodered and home assistant have endpoints to use MQTT. Tasmota runs on the devices and is able to use MQTT to interact with hardware (check tasmota commands) and pass data to MQTT from sensors. Nodered and home assistant can subscribe to that data (each stream is called topic) and use that information to process it and act upon it. Then control messages can be sent back to change the state of tasmota devices

Log indicates that WiFi component works ok, since you cannot connect to Zigbee on Home Assistant - I would check if you have correct MQTT configuration on both ends.

NotEnoughTECH OMG! It’s a new installation and I thought mqtt wasn’t necessary. I will try again configuring mqtt on both sides and let you know. Thanks again

I only tried some sensors in the early build. Things moved very fast so I decided to leave it for a month or so as info otherwise would be outdated quickly even this flashing option works but was outdated after a week so right now you are on your own with testing. No doubt I'll return to this and make a proper guide when I get the time and changes don't happen in weekly basis

After successfully setting up the CC2530 in a RPI (and a mesh network) using your instructions I have now managed to flash the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge. Can I ask, how do the 2 systems relate to each other and if I pair devices am I pairing to the CC2530 or to zigbee2tasmota. Yours a bit confused.
@notenoughtech4 жыл бұрын
You have to bind one device to another otherwise they will create 2 separate networks

@@notenoughtech Thanks, how do I do that?

ZigBee to tasmota reference should have the commands for it. You type it in console in tasmota web interface

Does anybody know how to make the output from the Z2T bridge visible in Domoticz? I have my sensors paired and see them in the Tasmota menu but I can’t find a way of getting it in Domoticz. Another problem is opening a port (like in Home Assistant port 8888) doesn’t seem to work for me. Anybody with an answer to this?
@notenoughtech4 жыл бұрын
If you are on the same network you shouldn't need to open ports to get the messages through unless you have specifically blocked it. You need MQTT broker to send data from Z2T to domoticz
@roelrijswijk33494 жыл бұрын
NotEnoughTECH Thanks a lot for the swift answer! I have the MQTT broker working fine but I still don’t know where to find the data from the Z2T bridge in Domoticz... is it because I am a noob? ;-) I’ll carry on looking for it in Domoticz. I guess it’s part of the hobby....

I never used it but I would assume it has MQTT input to configure.

Hello, thanks for your great tutorials. I just tried to install Tasmota using a raspberry Pi and I get stuck at the following step: ##### pi@raspberrypi:~/esptool $ sudo ./esptool.py --port /dev/ttyS0 erase_flash esptool.py v3.0-dev Serial port /dev/ttyS0 Connecting... Detecting chip type... ESP8266 Chip is ESP8266EX Features: WiFi Crystal is 26MHz MAC: a4:cf:12:d7:f2:2b Uploading stub... Running stub... Stub running... Erasing flash (this may take a while)... Chip erase completed successfully in 4.2s Hard resetting via RTS pin... ##### so, erase flash seems to work but when I send the writing command does not connect anymore: ##### pi@raspberrypi:~/esptool $ sudo ./esptool.py --port /dev/ttyS0 write_flash -fm dout 0x0 tasmota-zbbridge.bin esptool.py v3.0-dev Serial port /dev/ttyS0 Connecting....... ##### Any ideas about how to do a RTS pin reset and write the flash? Thanks in advance
@notenoughtech4 жыл бұрын
Try writing without erased part. Remember each time you do this you have to put the board back to flash mode

NotEnoughTECH thanks for answering. It does not connect and yes I have gpio + gnd connected together with DuPont cable to the gnd of my raspberry
@notenoughtech4 жыл бұрын
Disconnect the reset pin and just manually reboot the esp by reconnecting the gnd pin. Start script first keep gpio00 low then reset the gdn.

Managed to flash the device with Tasmota, and after power cycling the device (without 100 connected) the blue led flashes away. All good so far. Can then connect to its SSID and configure the wifi parameters, but after its reboot - nothing. Doesnt connect to my wifi, no flashing lights at all. Tried repeating the process a few times but still the same result. I've had issues with IOT devices connecting to my hub before but turning of 5ghz and restarting the hub always solved this. Shouldnt the device flash whilst it trying to connect to my wifi, think previous devices did?

Check if AP is present. If so lost connect to the AP and see WiFi credentials
@johnsbond4 жыл бұрын
@@notenoughtech AP is available & in range, I've tried re-flashing multiple times & therefore retyped the wifi credentials several times but no joy. Doesnt the light on the Sonof flash until its connected? After entering the wifi credentials - no more lights on the device?

By AP I refer to tasmota in Access Point mode where you connect to the gadget directly via phone to complete the setup
@johnsbond4 жыл бұрын
@@notenoughtech Yes after flashing I can connect to the tasmota in AP mode via phone. I get the setup page which I complete, its after this the device reboots & doesn't connect to my wifi network. I also thought with other tasmota devices the light on them flashes until it connected to wifi / mqtt?
@notenoughtech4 жыл бұрын
I'm away from my sonoff to confirm but I believe lifts stops flashing and it's off after this. Have you tried opening its hostname ? Or use ring app to see if device joined the network.
