I like having the protected left hand turn at the end of the light cycle as opposed to the start. I find what happens is you get two or three cars rushing the yellow light trying to turn left and interrupting the opposite directions protected left and it slows everything down when its at the beginning.

I like how the flashing yellow arrow lights goes to green arrow then yellow then red after the cycle then other lights goes green afterwards

That's what they call a "lagging" left turn phase.
