Is there a remote shutter built into the 300? So I could hold it while walking around a room and trigger the shutter on the camera from the flash?
@RichBaum2 жыл бұрын
I recommend learning how to tether to an iPad from your camera that way you can walk around and be free, I personally use the Sony application and my camera has built-in Wi-Fi works great on my iPad you can see me use it on every shoot and every video

Hi Rich, what settings do you use on your Sony so the HSS can work above 160 shutter speed? My AD200 fires with the Sony, but won't work above that 160 shutter. Thanks!

Hi Rich, thanks for the great video! After watching your video I'm planning to buy a Flashpoint XPLOR 300 PRO, will it be enough power for lightning bigger spaces? Or should i get more powerfull Flashpoint XPLOR 600 PRO and be safe when i need more power? XPLOR 600 was my first choice but now you made me think with this video. Thank you in advance for reply.
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
I would surely get the 300 over the 600 as 600 is overkill and very heavy for most of what we do but with that said it's also great to have a 600 even if you only need it once in a while.. for me I only use my 600 once in a while.

Thanks as always for the great video Rich! I'll be upgrading to a new "ecosystem" during the holiday sales. I have the Flashpoint ad600 w/ R2 transmitter. If I put the R2 on my Canon, and handhold the R2 Pro to make on-the-fly adjustments to my new ad200/300, any idea if that would work? It keeps me from touching either my camera or flashes (I use this setup currently with my YN ecosystem now).

Screwed this into the bottom of the grip (Spider Holster SpiderPro Pin www.amazon.com/dp/B004TGR89C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_n1e7Eb38JBV5H), and it's now right on my Spider belt. Awesome setup. I can tell this light will be a favorite, and a workhorse.

Hi Rich! I'm a huge fan of your videos, they've been such a great help in getting started in Real Estate Photography. I am getting ready to purchase my first flash for real estate photography and I am conflicted whether the XPLOR 300 Pro is a smart first purchase, or if I should be getting something lower in price as a starter flash. I would love to hear your suggestion, and if there are any flashes you may recommend as an alternative more affordable flash for a beginner. Thank you much!
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
I think the 300 is the best especially as with a good solid build this light will last you years so you can add on to it and not need to replace. SO I suggest you get a Zoom Li-On speedlight and a 300 and you will be set for quite a while

Rich, many thanks for your work! It's been a few months, is the Xplor 300 working reliably for you? The pivot apparently is weak when using large modifiers, but I know that's probably not an issue for RE. BTW, the Xplor 300 wouldn't have been as compact had it incorporated the Bowens mount. I'm thinking or ordering two of these and a Bowens adapter. I'm down the road from you a bit, in San Jose. A realtor friend, who has seen some of my other work, is encouraging me to get into the RE photography game. I did it briefly, when photography meant film and the Web was something new (I'm a generous person, so I let someone else start Realtor.com and pick up that money off the floor).

@larrygol224 жыл бұрын
Rich Baum Thanks for this video. Question: If you’re using this every day on a stand, isn’t that going to slow you down vs using an Evolv 200 on a monopod that you can easily lean on a wall behind you (or pull from a small shoulder bag or holster) as you first shoot your ambient then grab the AD200 and hold it up to the ceiling in the right place? Unless I have plenty of time or need extra power, I find lights on a stand are cumbersome for everyday work. Your thoughts on this?
@davidenglund4 жыл бұрын
Are you using one 300 Pro or two for your interior shots? Can just one provide enough light for larger rooms?
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
In the past I use a Speedlight in a pouch in my tripod, a 200 and a 360 for almost all my homes / 95% and if I have a really big job with super high ceilings I’ll also add a 600 on a 12’ stand. So now I am currently using a Speedlight, my eVolv 200 and the new XPLOR 300 and I find this perfect for 95% of my homes. But please understand this light is wonderful for so many reasons especially in Size / Power. It’s basically the perfect light for me. I plan to get a second one soon as that how much I like it. Yes it’s a little more $$ than the 200 but it’s light years better in power and build quality.

@@RichBaum Of course. :) Would you recommend this or the Flashpoint eVOLV 200 Dual Head Kit? Combining 2 of the 200s seems like a good option too.
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
Emily J please understand, it’s not all about power, it’s about the right tool for the job. I now feel strongly that this new XPLOR is a highly superior light, in power and in size so I can’t compare it to any other light and for me this light is a much missed part of my lighting kit. For me d so much rather use this 300 than my 200 or 2 200 with dual head or my beloved 360 or the 400. It’s basically the perfect light for what I do all day every day. And I’m worth this upgrade as it actually brings me enjoyment that really means something to me in my daily work.

What makes the XPLOR 300 worth buying when two eVOLV 200 strobe lights can be purchased for almost the same** cost? a) 200 + 200 = 400 > 300 (is that math application not appropriate here?) b) two positionable light-sources instead of one (but also the inconvenience of more equipment) If a person is acquiring his/her first strobe lights for this kind of photography, getting two of the eVOLV 200 seems to be the better choice... What am I missing? **If I remember correctly, prices were (when I was shopping last month and briefly considering both lights): eVOLV 200 basic kit = $239 XPLOR 300 basic kit = $499
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
xrichxlen it’s not all about price. The 300 is far better build, I like it far more ergonomically, 300 is far better power for real Estste photography so size and weight vs power this is hands down the best power / size for what we do. So just because it’s less $$ s not I’m the equation.
