Hey Marcus, thanks for your brilliant videos. After watching this one, I ordered the Godox RT-19 7" reflector for $19 from B&H. When testing on the ADP100Pro I was blown away to see it increases by 2 full stops. Tested on my ADP400Pro and it was only just over a stop extra. I never would have thought of this so cheers again!

Got now the AD-R11 7" reflector with Godox mount and added the diffusor from the AD600... compared with the AD-R14... a bit more focused... and lighting almost without diffusor near the AD-R14 with... so a double-win... more and better light... I assume similar to your custom made reflector. 🤞 Thank you Markus for your ongoing tips and inspiration. 🙏

👍👍👍 ... love the T-shirt by the way, Kodachrome 25 was my favourite, then when it got discontinued was using the 64... Funny story I know that I was one of the last customers having a Kodachrome developed, if not the very last one. Long story short, found an exposed film in the loft, years after Kodachrome was completely discontinued, 2009 if I well remember, maybe 2010? I got in contact with Kodak and told me that there was only one lab left still processing it and that it would have shut down in a few weeks, so under their instructions I was asked to post the film from London to Switzerland and then they would have sent it to the US.... 2-3 weeks later I got the transparencies back. What a great film, perfectly developed after 6-7 years in the loft, and top notch service from Kodak, except for the initial postage to Switzerland I didn’t have to pay any extra charges, they fulfilled the original processing that was included with the purchase of the film, that’s customer service!

Love your vids! Lighting also is more of an obsession to me than the actual cameras, and you seem to be one of the only youtubers that has no vested interest with your reviews and recommendations and that is so helpful. A lot of the others even if they dont like something, will only be vaguely negative because im sure they are worried about losing revenue. I also love traveling to shoot and am so obsessed with trying to find the most efficient and portable kit to travel with so i really love your emphasis on that. Keep up the great work!

A few months ago, I bought a Godox ML60 LED light and the AD-R12 reflector, and then found that this reflector is just a larger version of the (much smaller) stock reflector that came with the ML60, which can be purchased separately. At Adorama, it's called the "Godox 60-Degree Reflector for ML60". I had also purchased a 15-degree reflector, but didn't like it because while the center WAS a lot brighter, the edge of the light went out everywhere.

Yep, I just purchased a Godox soft box for my Neewer brand name studio light. My light came with a little baby cone, not even close to adequate. I've been using umbrellas for years with this thing until I finally purchased this Godox Octagon Softbox 37 inch attachment. Being internally reflective as it is, this is a much better way of doing things, especially with the included diffusers. Cheers man 🍻

Hi Markus, you are not alone in hacking lighting mods for the AD300. I used a GODOX SA-GD Mount Speed Ring with a Godox Aluminum 120° 12.2" Wide Angle Reflector as I wanted a wide throw of light. The GODOX SA-GD Mount Speed Ring provides a great base to attach anything, I even used a PCB Long throw reflectors with Godox AD300 and the increase in light blew my mind. Looking forward to your other ideas and projects. Like the rivet idea, I have been using superglue.

This would allow me to use it with additional bowens mount modifiers e.g. my optical snoot. Any idea 💡 or thoughts 💭on this would be much appreciated 😊 PS it would also be great if you could somehow tag these e.g. #MarkusHacks 😉 or create a special Playlist for all your modifier hacks so we can easily reference purposes

I have both of them- the one that screws together semi-permanently onto the unit and the adapter that attaches to the front. Both make it big and clunky, negating the selling point of it being a small portable unit, plus the most important part- the light color being too blue, which is why I'm getting rid of all 3 of my 300's

I did. Those stock reflectors are worthless, they actually DIM the light, making it almost equivalent to an AD100 instead of 300. Two AD200's with 4.5" reflectors are MUCH brighter than two AD300's with the stock reflector.

The ones that claim to do both are a joke. LED lights can never flash as bright as a real flash. You need separate ones. @MarkusPix
@MarkusPix Жыл бұрын
That's what I was trying to say- the small Godox mount relfector for the AD300 puts out less light than the AD-S2 on the AD200 because the actual reflector is smaller on the 300 AND the bulb is a lot more recessed. The 200 bulb sticks out a lot more. That's why I have five AD200's and gave away my 300's.

@@MarkusPix I wasn't comparing to the AD200. I was comparing the AD300 w/oem can to AD300 with larger can. Maybe I need to watch your video again, because I thought that what you were saying was that the larger can (4.5 in. AD-R14) when put on the AD300 produced 1/2 stop more light than with the smaller OEM can that it came with. Thank you for your reply - I really appreciate your videos.

Howdy Markus, another great video. I have to say, you’re living the dream. 👍 I purchased a Godox ML60 a while back an used the Godox S2 bowens adapter to attach fresnel, reflectors and soft boxes. It’s a blast to play around with. I think, with that flash, it might work as well. Especially, with that bulb more exposed. The S2 bracket can be clamped at different depths to get the proper bulb position. Foil tape can be used to get the most out of the light. The whole reason they didn't put a Bowens mount on this little flash is to keep it small. Bowens is just too big and bulky. Plus I DID try the S2 bracket (AND the semi-permanent Bowens ring adapter made specifically for the 300) in all kinds of configurations. It's fine for softboxes, but the low profile bulb just doesn't cut it with reflector cans like these when using a Bowens adapter, no matter how much you push it in or out- you lose an average of 1.5 stops.
