I am so glad you made this video. I tried to make this quilt myself. Got the first block done. But the second block I’m stuck. I got discouraged but not give up. And then there you were showing me how to do some of the little tricks that you know so I can learn them and continue on with my quilt.

Wonderful information. I like English paper piecing but I never like the stitches showing and you have solved that for me. Thank you so much for making this video.

I loved watching your video. We are both on the same page as far as stitching goes. I did learn something as you go to the center of the long seam and then start stitching again from the other end. I’m working on Dear Jane EPP. I’ve done EPP for years but only hexies. Branching out to other shapes and blocks!!!

Thank you for the detailed tutorial. I love this way of flat tape EPP.... I just started and I liked how you do the 'x' on the corners to secure the pieces together. You are so kind to share your tips about the tape and paper clip too. I hate trying to find the end of tape.

Would have like a close-up of the flat back seam. Tip about using scotch tape and x across corners very helpful.

This was one of the first videos I filmed, so I would change a bunch of things if I did it now. I can tell you that I use the same technique in the other videos so you should be able to see it closer on one of the others. I just can’t think of a specific one of the about 200 videos on my channel. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Thank you so much for responding. A couple more questions: were you measured at the studio or did you measure your finger and do the transaction on line? Also, what is the style/pattern that you have called? I appreciate so much your taking the time with me…
@PoolesPiecing11 ай бұрын
I did it in person at a quilt show. I’m not sure how they do things online. I’m not sure what the style is called, but it has a Celtic-ish design on it with no gemstone. (Some have gemstones).

Can I use washitape instead of scotch tape??

Great video. I'd really like to see a hexagon done with your method. It seems as if you have two layers of fabric, right?
@PoolesPiecing5 жыл бұрын
Hexagons work exactly the same way as Dear Jane pieces. They interlock together better, so it’s actually easier to work with hexies. There is only one layer of fabric. There are places where it is folded over to baste the seam allowances down, but in the end it is only one layer. Not sure I understand what you are getting at. Please clarify and I would be happy to help.

Poole’s Piecing. I meant it appears that the edges that are folded over, appear to completely cover the center of the block....therefore there are more than one layer of cloth. I would like that feature because I seem to have used a few really thin fabrics! Thank you for your time

What thimble are you wearing? Beautiful!

I use a custom made thimble I purchased from Thimbles by TJ Lane. Pricy, but very worth it!

Where is resource for the stellito tool?
@PoolesPiecing3 жыл бұрын
Stiletto tool was purchased from QuiltersExpress.com. I believe they still carry them, but I’m not sure how they fared through the pandemic drought.

Great video but please talk about your thimble
@PoolesPiecing11 ай бұрын
I got my thimble custom made from Thimbles by TJ. I don’t think they are in business anymore, but there are others that have stepped in to fill the void. It is made from sterling silver, and if the fit changes over the years, they will correct it or exchange for another to make it right. I love it bc it has dimples right at the angle of my finger where many others do not. Also it has lasted me at least 20 years at this point.

Seems like a good idea but not enjoyable. I do a teddy bear stitch. It has always worked and is perfect.
