QUESTION: Why does someone with a "youtube degree", aka me, school the likes of PhD Tony and Professor Phil Bell in Lorentz Transforms? Odd no? kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXLLl5Wqn9-ca6c PhD Tony "I want to make a couple of points" 1/. "Lorentz DID NOT develop the Lorentz Transform [to rescue ether from MMX]....the Lorentz Transform was actually originally Woldemar Voigt...[blah blah blah] ON A FACTUAL BASIS" " *Lorentz did not adopt this transformation* , as he found in 1904 that only the Lorentz contraction corresponds to the principle of relativity. Since Voigt's transformation preserves the speed of light in all frames, the Michelson-Morley experiment and the Kennedy-Thorndike experiment can not distinguish between the two transformations. *The crucial question is the issue of time dilation. The experimental measurement of time dilation by Ives and Stillwell (1938) and others settled the issue in favor of the Lorentz transformation* ." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woldemar_Voigt And: "It is also important that Lorentz and later also Larmor formulated this transformation in two steps. At first an implicit Galilean transformation, and later the expansion into the "fictitious" electromagnetic system with the aid of the Lorentz transformation. *In order to explain the negative result of the Michelson-Morley experiment* , he (1892b)[R 12] introduced the additional hypothesis that also intermolecular forces are affected in a similar way and introduced length contraction in his theory (without proof as he admitted). The same hypothesis was already made by George FitzGerald in 1889 based on Heaviside's work. While length contraction was a real physical effect for Lorentz, he considered the time transformation only as a heuristic working hypothesis and a mathematical stipulation. In 1895, Lorentz further elaborated on his theory and introduced the "theorem of corresponding states". This theorem states that a moving observer (relative to the ether) in his "fictitious" field makes the same observations as a resting observers in his "real" field for velocities to first order in v/c. Lorentz showed that the dimensions of electrostatic systems in the ether and a moving frame are connected by this transformation:[R 13]" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Lorentz_transformations Phil is absolutely clueless that Lorentz Transforms are embedded in Aether and were used to form Space-Time in Relativity. machearth.1ness.co.uk/ProfPhilBellWrongRelativity.PNG Bit of a paradox no? Nobody ever made any claims that those programs were even supposed to prove any of that! That's entirely _not the point_ of why they're on TV in the first place. I was that force while in school before I dropped out 2 weeks into my 10th grade year. I also try to think out my reasons why I disagree with something, and say things that have some level of weight to them instead of just making fun of people for being stupid because, and for no other reason than, they don’t agree with me. I was bullied in school for years, as were many of my close friends, and am incredibly familiar with how bullies think and act and justify their actions. I have debated people online with the express intention of trying to convince them, or learning from them where I am wrong, and on multiple occasions, I have been wrong in an assertion and apologized online, or been friendly with somebody I disagree with. In school, I was unpopular and easy to make fun of, so the kids got onto me for being different and an easy target, the teachers got onto me for disrupting the class by being quiet and as far in the corner as I could get, and in later years, I latched onto anything that resembled a friend until I had to realize that letting people laugh at you under the guise of hanging out with you wasn’t worth it. By the end, when I was popular in my own group, I still remembered how it felt, and tried never to make anyone in our group, or in any other group feel bad, and carried that over into my regular life. Yep, I was looking for an item to agree on with LEO, as for most of his part he is spewing b.s., is not listening to what is actualy said by Brian and only assumes things he heared and replying to that what he thinks he hears. Yes, there is something "nice" about Prof Brian, we can all agree on.

You know what's painful? He believes in such horribly ordinary, easy to grasp concept of living on one sided piece of flat disc, instead of cherishing an amazing achievements of us probing space from a small insignificant blue ball of water and rock. What a tool.

Ah Dan. I've been subbed from day dot and I'm so happy to see you getting sponsors and making BANK. Have a lovely new year, brother.

Prof. Brian Cox is just amazing to watch, his excitement while he is educating others is so wonderful to see.

He's doing an interview on a morning talk show. Did this dude really expect him to walk out there & address a topic that was settled millennia ago - without being asked? Read a book bro.

Physics teacher: The heavier the object, the more the force is required to pick it up. FEO: The heavier the object, the more imaginary force we need to apply, is that right, teach?

So basically LEO's best argument is "You don't agree with me so you are a poopy head"? Just trying to estimate the level of care he needs.
