Regarding estate agents trying to get you to look at places out of your budget, I was looking at buying somewhere and decided not too. The agent was like, well i have this other property....and I looked at it, it was 110k OVER the budget I could afford. Plus it was listed as a 3 bedroom house, but the "3rd" bedroom was a balcony over the master bedroom. So I jokingly queried it, and he was like, it's what they do in Europe for the chalets!!! I died, it was too much.

I just watched your video and read the comments 😊 very interesting. In the video u said u would put the questions below that we should ask. But I didn't found those 🙈 could you please post it? It will help me so much as we are planning to relocate to London. Also you say to ask about the neighbors. 😁 I would love to know that when I am moving to a new location I will not have horrible neighbours. But how can one know? What questions would you usually make? I appreciate any answers. Best wishes Aj 😊🙏

It's not true that there's more supply than demand in London at the moment. It varies according to the state of the area, the flat and things like whether it has a garden. If it's a good area, 2 or 3 bedrooms, good condition and a garden, there is far more demand than supply currently in all the areas I've currently been searching in. If you don't phone the agent quickly when you get the Rightmove alert, it will often be fully booked with viewings by the time you do, or already removed from Rightmove by the agent as they've let it. Most flats I've viewed that meet those criteria are getting multiple offers, as there's so much demand, and a few times now I've come across people offering without even viewing as they're so keen to secure it. Maybe the market is different if it's a less desirable area, there's no garden or it's at the cheaper (shabbier) end of the market. I'm sharing what I've experienced over summer 2021 (writing this in Sept 2021).

I'm moving to London in September and am struggling with deciding on a location! Would love to know what locations you looked at/ which ones you liked & didn't like!
@millenreal3 жыл бұрын
it really depends on what you're moving here for. for ex- if you're a student then living more central makes more sense as you can access different parts of london easily and compromies a bit on the flat size. If you're a professional, people prefer living a bit further away from the center and commuting in because flats in zone 2 for ex are cheaper, or if not cheaper - better value for money
@BottledBlueOnYouTube3 жыл бұрын
agreed with millenreal - also depends on your budget... if you have enough funds to live in Zone 1 then good on you, but it's spenny! all the places we looked at were in Zone 2. if I were you I would map out where you'll need to get to regularly (friends and family in London, work/school/uni) and then look at the best tube lines/overground/DLR that serve that area. the magic of living in London is that it's really well linked up - but like I said in this vid, some areas are better served than others. in my opinion I'd rather go for an uglier flat that is better served by public transport because I don't want to spend my life commuting an hour everywhere. it's all about priorities :)
@myran7883 жыл бұрын
I agree with what everyone says. I have lived in both zone 1 and 2. In zone 1 I shared a flat and room with other people cause that’s what I could afford. With a better job I moved to zone 2 partly cause I wanted to be a bit more out of central but also better options. I could for example afford my own room and only shared a roof top flat with 2 other people, so a lot more space and freedom 😄. Personal choice: I love east London and north. But you need to find your own favourite spots. Good luck!

This is a question that people normally refrain from answering (not sure why) but what area would u recommend for a single, newbie, looking for a safe place on the central or northern lines? Is Stratford or bethnal green good?
@BottledBlueOnYouTube3 жыл бұрын
(This is only going off my friends who have lived in those areas!). Stratford is fine, good for shopping but quite far out / not much going on that close by. On the Jubilee line though which is a decent one (central/Hammersmith & city regularly have severe delays). Bethnal Green has cool things nearby like Victoria Park, Columbia road flower market, shoreditch etc. But not heard rave reviews about the actual area, but I think that would totally depend on where in Bethnal Green you are based. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help! xx
