Flat Ironing My 4C Natural Hair: 1st Attempt Disaster or Success?

I’m 57 and have been natural for six years. Through trial and error I have learned that it’s best for me to be a straight natural. I have 4c hair and it’s very tightly coiled which causes it to tangle more and the fairy knots are ridiculous. My hair is also thinner on top and thicker in the back. It’s refreshing to see someone closer to my age and hair type making helpful videos.

Thank you. Yes I believe I got the shower curtain from Walmart or Amazon around 2019. May ge time for a bathroom make over.

I'm a year younger than you and you are the only one I've seen do YT videos with hair that really flat irons like mine, which is not all that 'silk press.' I put up a video on doing an at home keratin a few days ago, which you might find useful. I also have the henna sooq henna and indigo, which I've done only once, and am regularly using amla and brahmi to get more thickness/strength to each strand. Age definitely changes our hair, but I've always had cottony hair, just thicker without being wiry before.

Thanks for stopping by my channel and it's been a journey truely learning my hair. Also I've learned the proper way to flat iron my hair a lot better which I will do for my birthday in April. In the meantime, I've gotten my thickening and hair growth kit from Henna Sooq.
