I Attended Walker’s Supercamp. Ever since I’ve believed that one cannot have any more fun than sliding around in 2nd gear on an XR-100. A Great learning experience.

Great explanation. I went to Danny Walker’s class earlier this year. He uses the Yamaha TTR-125. It was a humbling experience. I went out and got one as a small practice bike. I haven’t thought about actually racing it, but your explanation makes sense and I’m going to do it. More seat time is better!

I ride a DRZ400SM as my daily commuter and an EXC 200 as my primary dirt bike. I've been looking for a small bike to fart around on when I'm tired at the end of the day from riding singletrack on the 200 so I've been researching the XR100 and TTR125L. I don't intend to race at all, but you did a fantastic job of providing so many positive attributes of the XR. Excellent job!!!

I paid 1003 years ago. The one that looked like it just came off the lot. As of now I have installed a cam, lighten the flywheel about a pound and a hand built under exit exhaust. I’ve been waiting to get a 115 high compression kit for it.

Yes! But is it good for a new rider that weights 200+ pounds and 6"5.
@45triplex794 жыл бұрын
I'm 6'3 and 350 lbs. They are a BLAST! I put 3/4" taller ATV bars on and rotated them forward just a bit from the stock position. Put BBR springs in the forks and shock. A TTR125 will give you a bit more room but an XR100 will work.

@@45triplex79 a ttr125 is good for a tall rider! I thought I had to buy a 450 if you weight over 200! are 250 is good to?

@@maxthunder2 Like Mike said in the video, training on mini's is extremely beneficial. I roadraced 1000cc bikes so when Mike suggested it I didn't think 7hp minis would help my riding. I was WRONG. I have 2 minis that I love riding. Try it, you'll love it. If I can fit, anyone can. Plus I'm old.

What do you think about the small sunday bikes that are popping up every where
@FlatTrackFactory3 жыл бұрын
I'm not real familiar with them. The seem small, and I'm not sure they fit into the average club race or semi-pro race night to everyone's satisfaction. My concern with adding new bikes is that new classes make the event longer unless a class is phased out. My question would be, what does [insert new bike] offer that the 13-19 existing classes doesn't already do better or very well?

What tires would be good without changing to 17s
@FlatTrackFactory6 ай бұрын
Depends on how hard the track is. "Adventure" tires like the Bridgestone Trailwing work. Trials tires work too. It the track is hard and well-packed a street tire like the Pirelli scooter tire wins races.

A bit yes. You may have to run your wheelbase on the long side, and grind a bit on the swingarm flanges that get in the way. Different year bikes may need more or less material removal.

What bars and exhaust pipe are on that bike if you don't mind my asking? And clearly you only plan on laying it down on the left side ;-)

The pipe is by Jemco and the bars are Renthal (I think). The bark buster gets in the way of "elbows up" "screwdriver hand" on the throttle.
