Thanks for sharing your insights and tips. Also I loved your interview on the progression project…you having me frothing to get into Foil DW now. A couple quick questions, if that’s cool: 1. I am 85kg 6’1 tall and ride a 97l sup surf board 6ft x 27 1/2 wide and was thinking to get a custom DW board 6’4 - 6’6 - 23 - 25 wide. I do want to still sup surf this also. After a comment of yours was thinking I should go closer to the 23 side what leggy and dimensions would you recommend? 2. How’s the Ona Ava QB paddle going and for my weight would you recommend 105 or the 115? 3. Height of paddle - I normal have head high or lower but in the comments you said 4” above the head.. So just wondered on reason and your thoughts on this for Sup foil DW 4. I am on lift gear and largest HA or mid aspect wing is the 200ha (1290cm 6.8 aspect ratio) have been told that I will need a larger wing to learn on eg: 1300png axis - ASPECT RATIO: 9.94 ACTUAL AREA 1712 square cm What’s your thoughts? thanks heaps Jeremy. Cheers David

@@PaddleWithRiggs Thanks Jeremy, I am 61 years old with 10 years of SUP surfing experience and was inspired by your KZbin tutorial videos to start SUP foiling. I ordered a KT Ginxu Dragonfly Surf 7'10, 110ℓ with NAISH JET HA1840 foil, I am 70kg in weight. The foil was the largest set available at the nearby shop here in Japan. I hope this choice is okay for me. I can't wait for them to arrive. I will continue to practice by watching your videos over and over again!

Thank you Jeremy! I’ve recently learned on an Axis SUP/wing board Froth 6’0, 29”W, 125 Liters in Miami. Wondering if the squarish shape and extra volume that it has would be way too hard to pump around on to enjoy and consistently train on in the lake that I live on. Or thinking that I should just buy a narrow dedicated board (like 6’0, 24”W, 105 L). But not sure where to get something so narrow like you folks are using in Miami. I’m a 170 lbs. All the best! Do you want to sell me something?
@PaddleWithRiggs
@PaddleWithRiggs 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Glyn, The narrower boards we are using now make it much easier. I don't have anything to sell but I think you would find the Kalama 6'1" x 23" stable enough. I have let several paddlers demo mine and they were surprised at how stable the board feels

@PaddleWithRiggs
@PaddleWithRiggs 2 жыл бұрын
I’m using the M280. It has the most lift and it’s easier to get off the water than the smaller foils. The smaller foils work for flat water but it takes more strokes and effort with a smaller wing. Smallest wing I can get lifted on is the Go Foil NL160

How important is paddle blade size? I don’t hear much talk about it but looks like you and others are using big blades with good results. We are all looking for that magic bullet And suddenly we will be popping up like You because you know it must be the paddle not the paddler. Haha.

I like the bigger blades but some guys are still using small blades. I just ordered the Ava Ono 105 from Quick blade. They have a 115 but I don't feel like I need to go that big weighing in at 160 lbs

With my 2019 120l Naish Hover, the board turns almost 90 degree at each stroke... There's obviously something wrong in my technique... I do almost circular strokes to counterbalance the rotation but it obviously doesn't work... I paddle towards the board during first half then paddle away during the second part... You seem to do almost straight strokes, that's surprising.. 🤔

Eric Schweitzer Sorry, I didn't see your message. No, no luck at all. Still going around in circles. Could almost paddle in my bathtub 😀. I'm trying to get my hands on a very specific board to compare, the Gong Cruzader XL. I'm hoping to get one on loan soon. Any news on your own attempts?
