I have been watching this 😂😉 I am planning on making a video on my minis and A6 ringbinders. Yes, it was by watching your videos, that changed my mind on ringbinders. Regarding fountain pens, in Germany and many neighbouring countries, we learn to write with fountain pens.

That's interesting. Thank you.

I just bought as an entry in and a bit of an experiment a Filofax eco. Obviously probably prefer something leather at a later date. But was interested in the alternatives or budget conscious. I even wondered how hard it would be to build your own Filofax, something like your Franken fax ‘

You know, I'm always thinking about making my own "filofax", or variations of it. And you can be sure that I will share my experiments with viewers. Starting with an "eco" filofax is an excellent idea, by the way. Thank you.

@seaweedkisses here on YT has been doing a serious paper test rabbit-hole series with Moleskine lately (kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6O5in2JjMyjlcU ) I've been following along because I'm a just wildly curious about all things paper and I have a bit of everything, as I expect we all probably do. Apparently, the FSC code of "supporting responsible forestry" maybe an indicator of a mixture of paper pulp that supports dark ink and fountain pen ink.

I'm just wildly curious too.

@@Flatability lol I was replying along as I was watching per usual and hadn't gotten to the part where you covered it 😂

As for Moleskine... there is a trick to finding the ones that are FP friendly! Look on the back FSC label and look for the wording "Supporting responsible FORESTRY" (as opposed to "Paper from responsible sources"). There is a video that explains how to find the key kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6O5in2JjMyjlcUsi=HWdWSxs8ZE02mxwX

I have an open mind about this. I love the look and feel of Moleskine notebooks. But the actual paper? Not so much.

For me the last straw that made me stop using Moleskines was when they added their corporate ads (the social media call to actions) at the start and the end of the notebook. It feels so cheap, and it devalues the product. I want my notebooks to be competely blank; perhaps a logo at the front or back, but that's it.I liked when you got the little foldout that had pretty much the same information.

You are so right about the corporate advertising. It doesn’t sit well with me either.

Lol! Then you mention the video. That's what I get for commenting in real time. I think she got close enough to confirming the quality. She has a large enough sample that I think she really did it. Is it enough to make me buy Moleskine again? Not really. I like the adventure of trying out different notebooks.

When it comes to Moleskine paper quality I’d be willing to try out any theory but, the more I think about it the more I feel that writing on just one side may be the only answer. I wonder what Hemmingway, or Chatwin, would have thought of this paper quality issue. I suspect they would have quickly switched to another manufacturer, but it is only my opinion.

Unfortunately the ‘code’ has been debunked regarding moleskine because someone has one that doesn’t fit the mold. I think it’s just the batches - certain batches are good and made maybe in a similar time with similar branding - but we all know it’s inconsistent paper quality. I don’t think you should be buying moleskine for fountain pen usage (even though moleskine sells fountain pens 😅) but there are plenty of people who don’t use fountain pen and have zero issues.

Moleskine isn’t worthy of a discussion. I can’t believe this. Who makes it??

Sorry, I forgot some aspects of this podcast edition. Can you elaborate and I'll see if I can answer. Many thanks.
