I generally put a half twist in every strap regardles of how tall, unless it is getting tarped. But that just me. Agree with you on rolling strap on the winchs except when I'm using winch to wich straps. I will roll it on the winch on one side and then through the other winch and rolled/folded under the strap at the edge of the trailer. I will tighten them down on the trough the winch side though.

Appreciate it brother. I get it too. This is why I say I don’t point fingers. Different flatbedders use different techniques. Hell, I’m not perfect but I sure as hell know what I’m doing. If I’m wrong, I’ll correct it and admit to it. Always some flatbed police in the comments. I’m okay with that though. Be safe. Get down the road. Be blessed Nightsider.

I’m curious what gloves you prefer? Back when I did flatbed I’d go through a pair of gloves every week or 2. Thanks for the great content and for sharing your knowledge.
@choicemas7 ай бұрын
I appreciate that. The gloves are “BATMAN”. Not being funny either. I get them whole in NY. 6 pair at a time. One pair will last me for months if not an entire year. They have the fur in them as well. Even for the summer because I like my hands and fingers to be padded for protection.

I have been told that if you have three layers you need to strap the second layer also Have I been misinformed ? Inquiring minds want to know Thanks choice!
@choicemas7 ай бұрын
This is true when it is possible. If you can’t get a pole through the layer you can’t do it. In addition, these weren’t loaded a layer at a time. When the loader loads a layer at a time, you let them know you would like to “tier strap” your load. They will hold off until you are finished throwing your straps over the second tier [as you stated]. That said, you weren’t misinformed, however you weren’t given the whole game. Peace brother and thank you for the question. Others will see you comment and get understanding from our exchange. 👊💯💯💯

I strap my second tier as taught.
@choicemas7 ай бұрын
@@Talk2theMike747 has there ever been a time when you weren’t able to? I’ve been out here for 8 years and I’ve strapped my second tier when able. I’ve also had times when I wasn’t able so I didn’t.

D.O.T laws require belly straps on that load and it's against D.O.T policy here in the states to have more then a half a twist in the straps. A full twist or more is illegal
@choicemas7 ай бұрын
Please list the section number in the FMCSA that myself and others can refer to. I'd appreciate it. If you would be kind enough thank you. I'm always willing to learn and will do whatever I need to do to be compliant. I will need to see the section of the law that states it though.
@choicemas7 ай бұрын
Just for clarification, you are saying anything more than a full twist is outlawed, illegal, con-compliant per DOT law in the United States?
@Ez-ko1gz7 ай бұрын

Wow, I appreciate your comment. Brother, I can’t speak for, nor will I point the finger at any other KZbinrs. As for me, I want to be the same man on camera that you will meet when in person. Many will vouch for me and confirm this. No pretending, no compromising my character, etc. I keep my heart out front, as I am not afraid or ashamed regardless of anything. Thanks again brother and stay fresh!
