When I was a kid, my dad had a half ton Fargo truck. The paint was bad, so off to home store and bought some hose paint in horrendous mint green. It got painted with a roller. The top half of the cab was painted white. The paint job came out fairly well My dad used that truck for about 10 years getting wood and chores before selling it.

You should look at putting 12 volt solar panels on all your trucks to keep all the batteries topped up especially as you've got too many truck for you to drive them everyday. I see a collaboration in your future with a solar panel maker. .nice work as usual Rich
@wobblysauce2 ай бұрын
For most projects, it is just the little phantom drains, so the panels don't need to be huge.

I did a remote battery setup for my air compressor rack I CADded up for train horn bullshit. I used a trailer battery charging solution that will kick on when charging voltage is detected and circuit is complete through a forklift charger plug setup. Works great to keep that remote battery charged without it being permanently wired to the rest of the truck.

Try connecting the battery with an anderson leads maybe for the bed Edit: looked around as said below,take power from the alternator, anderson leads to battery for quick disconnects, and a battery isolator for when the engine is off, or just disconnect battery, since the batteries if not connected directly will drain from each other and kill each other (especially if different capacities) but should be totally doable

Rich, For my bed I have the bed powered by a 7 pin trailer connector on the back of the cab. I use that connector to charge the battery in my camper by extending the wires to the rear of the bed. I have a box on my 50 to tow my boler (painted to match). I think the same setup will work for you.

For charging the bed battery you could put in a 7- way plug like on your semi to charge the battery and run lights while on the truck, and if you use the roll back as a normal roll back tow truck. Then when you want to drop off the bed completely just unplug the 7-way and use you Bluetooth controller setup you were think about.
