The gear I love using for flathead is
Today's lure 4' Holt Productions SwimPrawn
Rod and Reel combo: 270M Shimano Zodias and 3000 Shimano Vanford with 6lb braid and 12lb leader.

“Dusky Dreams” what a classic name for a Tinnie, Looks like you guys had a heap of fun that’s for sure. Those Holt Prawns are definitely a favourite for Flatties. Such a beautiful coloured and super addictive fish to catch, still as fun to catch now as it was when I was a young tacker. Hope to see you on one of the steps on the final day. They should have a Prize for the happiest fisherman, you’d nail it by a mile! 👍

Ok assist your set up is near head. Mine on the minnowZ i use a x 2 left and right flank found shinto pro size 6 30lb sit nice in 3'' . TO BEAT Z MATERIAL I USE 11MM ARSE END OF A 180 GRAIN 308 PROJECTILE THAT PLACED ON SHANK BEHIND EYELET OF HOOK MAKES LURE SPRING LOADED ALL UP SET UP IS AT 9 GRAMS. THIS SET UP DOES NOT MISS.LURE COLOUR AT NIGHT TROLLED GLOW CHART TOP OF TIDE DAY NUKE CHK GLOW VERY GOOD GOT ALOT OF 950MM LIZARDS ON THAT. NOTE AS WELL NO LOCK ON SHANK OF HOOK.

Good vid John, After watching a few vids from other utube guys, I noticed the difference in nerves ( confidence) pre fish vid vs tournament day. I wonder if the fish (feel/sense) that?? So many guys smash pre fish and a huge question I hear during these tournaments on stuff I like to watch is… “ WHY is this happening “?? As a viewer it looks like confidence n calm gets fish? From a very ordinary fisherman (me)

Woah Nice work, loads of flatties. Seeing the bust off happen with 12lb leader makes me all the more thankful I managed to pull in my 64cm with 8lb leader and 6lb braid. I won the WBHFC flattie division with that one too. Cant wait to see your day 2 & 3. This video had me bouncing my knee's wildly with anxiety for you! Great Stuff
