hello. Thanks for the vid. I was wondering if the sandpaper is adhered onto the roller or if it is floating somehow? I ask because I was confused how this would flatten given the infeed and outfeed are at the same height but then I was told that that the sandpaper is ostensibly floating off the roller given the centrifugal force which is why it doesnt just put a rut in the work piece.

Hi, exactly! It does float above the cylinder with centrifugal force The sandpaper is held by velcro so there is an air gap avoiding heat build, thus less gumming up.

@@DustyWorkbench ah, velcro. that makes a lot of sense. thanks!

What do you recommend for a good working height for the unit. I have a work bench that is 36 inches high and with the Flatmaster sitting on it, it seems too high. Thanks

We have ours within the bench so the top is at approximately 36". We find that to be good height.

I put mine a half inch above my table saw and workbench (37") so if I sand a long piece it can fall on them as a sort of outfeed catcher.
