Flatout Tire Sealant: Keeps Those Ebike Tires Rolling!

Hello again Rip, I forgot to mention in my previous comment that when I tried putting flat out in my tires, it would not go in at all. I called the company and spoke with a guy named Ken, what a gentleman this guy is, he explained to me that a lot of chinese bike tube may have a piece of rubber blocking the inside of the valve and explained to me that solution is to enter something inside to puncture this piece of rubber blocking the inside of the valve, I used the red plastic tube of a wd-40 can and it worked perfectly! He mentioned to use something plastic and not pointy because you may pierce the tube if you go to far. The red tube from the wd-40 can is not to pointy! This may help other uses if they have this problem! Thanks again and have a good one!

There's a new formula of FlatOut called Quick Strike. The formula isn't as thick as their other formulas and it's made for off road vehicles, including fat tire bikes. It flows faster so that less air is lost before the puncture is sealed. In addition, there are riders that have complained that the older, thicker formula has caused a slight wobble and/or heaviness feeling in their tires when they're rolling. For fat tire bikes, It recommends 10 to 16 ounces of the 32 oz bag be used per tire. Also, FlatOut recommends that the tire valve stem be set at the 3 o'clock position when filling your tires with the formula. I hope this helps.

I had a thorn pop my fat tire so I use flat out and it fixed it. I did a lot of research before deciding on that product. I figured the military must have a reason why they liked it so much. It's not like a lot of other sealants that don't last long.

FlatOut is a game changer rip1! I recently ran over a big long construction screw say 1/4” diameter, it totally punctured my tire and tube but i was still riding without any idea! Then when i took off my tube you should have seen how many small tiny pinhole punctures it had sealed!! It costs some money but dang its a small price to pay for the confidence and peace of mind while riding on long ebike rides! 🎉👍

best stuff i ever had.. i had a tire completly explod no tire just this stuff in place of the tire... but really its that good so good it plugs up the scrader valve when installing it i had to clear it 200 times crazy good stuff

For one Your channel name is Great ! And could have used this video several weeks ago , as I had a back wheel flat after 2,500 miles .That rascal went to the rim in two rotations !! Bless Jesus I was 1/2 a block from a Friends house.And he was Home.Thank you for this video I will snag a container of this stuff right away.Oh since I do side of the road riding 17 miles per outing I put on Big Smoothys $88.00 a piece not counting the tube.But dear Friend it made a big improvement in quiet and smooth riding.Well worth it.Cheers good Buddy :>)

Good morning Pedro for 16 oz. I really don't think it matters. I guess the manufacturer thinks if the weight of the bike is sitting on the flattened tube that the sealant won't go in properly.

Hi from the UK, I’ve only used the FlatOut Multi purpose sealant so far in my Ebike tyres and that says ….. works on tubed or tubeless tyres. Hope that helps

Changing a flat in 100° heat wouldn't be fun, that's for sure. Especially on these fat tire e-bikes. I've been looking at the Ridgid portable inflator, but the Ryobi is half the price. I assume it's been working okay for you since you like it.

Actually E-Bike tires are the easiest tires I ever monkeyed with ! The tires are so flimsy they all but fall off the rims.

My bike came with Slime in tubes. When I replaced the tires , the bike shop showed me a hole in my front tube. Sealed by Slime. Put slime in new tubes.

I bought a lawn mower back in the 80s and they charged me a few bucks to put the slime in the tires. That mower lasted 12 years and never had a flat. Not bad stuff at all

Slime only has a 2 year guarantee, flatout has a 10 year.

@@norme1850 my first set it knobby ebike tires lasted 1700 mi and one year. 2 year warranty works for me and at a lower cost. Flat out would be a good product for the occasional rider.

Didn’t work for me. Put it in, 3 weeks later picked up a 2 inch nail in back tire on the way to work. Flatt as a pancake. Heavy ebike. NOT HAPPY.... I was screwed literally. Cost about 60 bucks in Canada plus the aggravation. Watching videos after the fact someone said flat out is for slow moving vehicles like tractors. Please do more research than watching a few videos. The bike shop just called me, I put Tannus Armour in this time with a different sealer called Sahara. Made for motorcycles. Wish me luck. So far I'm dumping more money into the ebike than my motorcycle. Nothings cheap.

@tomdenny8507 I recently put FlatOut in my Ebike fat tires and then just a few days ago I ran over a drywall screw. FlatOut did not seal the leak., I tried multiple times, put the puncture on the bottom and even added another 1/4 bottle into the tire and after several more tries to inflate it I had to just give it up as a lost cause. After breaking down the tire to replace the tube I expected to find that the dry wall screw had ripped the tube or made multiple punctures but all I found was one small puncture. I can only say that FlatOut did not work for me. I am still unsure as to why it didn't but I will not ever use it again and you should think about it before you use it.
