Great test! I work for JOES Racing Products and I'm glad to see our economy gauge performed decent. We also have a pro tire gauge (model 32317) that is about $10 more that has a more accurate gauge head that we recommend for racing. The head is actually made by the same people that make Longacres, but we get the 2.5" head while they get the 2". We also have a digital gauge that is really accurate, and a $1,200 precision digital gauge that is stupid accurate that gets hand calibrated on a $20,000 fluke deadweight tester. When I get into work Monday I'm definitely going to share this video with engineering, product sourcing, and assembly. If everybody stopped buying Chinese made stuff for 3 or 4 months they might get wise, up their game, and produce a better product. Unfortunately, from the manufacturer to the distributor to the corporation that is having rebranded crap made in China for them to the end-user/consumer, NOBODY wants to rock the boat. They never called back, instead there was a replacement head in my mailbox a few days later. I had called because of it losing pressure. I have the regular Jaco. It bleeds a little when removed from the stem, but works great. As having an older all wheel drive vehicle, I find it most important that all tires have the same pressure. Too cheap to get the TPMS system going again. I then use a stick Guage to double check, and they are always 1# off. Close enough. I check tire wear regularly and carry a Dewalt 20V inflator in the trunk, as well as a Jump n Carry 600. I've learned that it sucks to have a flat spare tire or a dead battery with no one to help jump start.

So I just bought a no-name gage at a gas station and checked. I had a little panic because it looked like both my tires were low. I got back home. Got my Milton out. Got the compressor ready. What was shocking was the variation between some pairs. It's actually worse if he bought the pair at same time from the same seller. They'd likely be from the same batch - so thats item to item variation. So a lot of them had little or no Q/A and/or degraded in transit. The ones claiming 1.5% accuracy should be within 0.3 lb at 20psi so even if the pair was the very highest and lowest they should be within 0.6lb of each other. Some were hugely worse than that.

After almost 20yrs using an ultrasonic to clean things for scuba I can say a mix provided by GMC Scuba works amazingly well. The discarded dirty liquid left from scuba stuff has worked on bolts and things for me in the past. The best I can tell its phosphoric acid plus Blue gold and simple green. The odor is like windex but more mild. Great stuff, super expensive but you can filter it and get a lot of use from it.

I've had many tire gauges through the years, and I have always relied heavily on the Milton brand. The last one I purchased was the S-506, which is a dual chuck inflator gauge. It's all analog, and one thing I like about it is I can calibrate easily. I really appreciate your channel and your hard work. I have used your suggestions many times! I'll throw my 2 cents in. Before retirement, I worked wholesale in the bicycle industry for 40 years. I had to make many recommendations over those years including tire gauges. Knowing my reputation was on the line, I was careful about what I recommended. Working for different wholesalers, I sold many of these brands (and many more) simultaneously. It's nice to know my recommended brand, SKS Germany, was rated highly at #3. Additional, unique features of the SKS and not mentioned is it's a dual Schrader and Presta pivoting head, measures both PSI and BAR, and can easily handle 140 PSI for track racing tubulars. I was always worried about my recommendation due to its plastic construction, but I've been using mine for about 20 years having dropped it many times and it's still going strong for car and bicycle use. Even the light still works! The only issue is the battery compartment sometimes falls off from all the drops, but doesn't affect the function and it's as accurate as day 1. The SKS has seen the inside of a car glove box during Florida summers and NY winters as well as wet, muddy mountain bike trails. I don't remember any complaints or returns in all those years selling them, which is unusual when selling electronics to cyclists (a lot of mishaps). Lastly, although low weight is a negative in these tests, in the world of cycling low weight is a huge plus when carrying your tire gauge in a seat bag.

Nothing but Milton pencils for my cars, for nearly 50 years. U.S. made, brass bodies, no batteries to die/leak, no gauges to go bad, and absolute minimum space for storage.
@goodun29743 ай бұрын
* No batteries to leak* is extremely important for a device that probably sits in the glove box or the toolbox in the back of the car and only gets taken out and used 3 or 4 times a year. For what it's worth, I only use Eveready Lithium-max AA and AAA batteries for anything that's going to sit in the car or in a drawer and maybe only get used or tested a few times a year. You definitely want the best batteries possible in a flashlight that's going to be stored/stowed away in the car!

I just want to say that I just ran across and watched your 4-year old video, "Does Project Farm Actually Farm? Let's find out!" Even though I love all of your amazing videos, your actual farming video was the most amazing one I've seen yet! Now, I've never been on a proper farm (my dad said he grew up on a farm-- and hated it!), but I found the machines you use and their care and repair, the mowing and collecting hay, absolutely fascinating! Living in Kentucky, I drive along lots of road and highways with those huge rolls of-- honestly, I had no idea what they were, or what they were for!-- but now, because of your video, I know! Farming is one of the least-appreciated but most important missions there is, so I wanted to say God Bless You and all of the other farmers that keep us from starving to death, I truly, truly appreciate the work you do on the farm, and wish God's blessing and protection on you and your family, always!

I have a FJR 1300 motorcycle, and with the side cases and the shaft drive, it's much easier to get to the rear tire stem with the flex hose and swivel head. I also have 3 Accu Gauge digital gauges that read the same as the Jaco, and have been very reliable. I don't have any Milton gauges, but they make the best air tool fittings. Thanks for the great video. The Milton Dual Head gauge is available in a version that allows calibration. When I first bought mine, I found a racing shop that had a gauge calibration setup. They allowed me to check and calibrate my gauge for free. It was originally off by 1-psi or so at the pressures that I normally use (60-80 psi), so I calibrated it to zero error. About two years later, I re-checked it and it is still error-free.
