CA this is truly one of the best vids you’ve done , not only because you have the memories of you and flipper building your push pole but it’s the time you got to spend with that friend, that you will cherish forever, I think he has inspired more fishermen in his life than many of the other famous ones , I grew up watching him and following his adventures it seems like forever he’s only got a couple of years on me and our lives are close in our thirst for nature and fishing , he’s the reason I moved to Florida some 35 years ago so I could live the dream , I’m 72 and I wish I could shake the hand of the man who changed my life .

I grew up watching the Saltwater angler, Walker’s Cay chronicles and the Spanish Fly. Flip Pallot helped spark my love for fishing and the outdoors.

Flip Pallots name is totally unknown in Australia, except for a few. my father introduced me to Walkers Cay Chronicles n Spanish Fly wen i was just a boy. i am not a fly guy but wat Flip showed me was flats fishing from skiffs. in my teens i sort after wat Australia had to offer in flats fishing n that brought me to the coastal islands off the main land of Queensland Australia. there i found the Blue Bone Tusk Fish n Golden Trevally using plastics(Zman). the outer Barrier Reef has Bone Fish n Permit also further north the Hinchinbrook Passage has Permit n Golden Trevally. the Bone Fish is out of my reach because of where it is but still trying for the Permit through the passage. over the years i have imported 7 Hewes flats boats from the US. my latest is a 2022 Hewes 21 Red Fish which runs the coastal islands nicely. thx Flip n now CA for the years i have been watching u.

It sounds like you and flip need to plan a largemouth bass episode, and then maybe you will be able to catch some saltwater species. This is probably one of my favorite episodes so far 👌

Flip is a great guy. At a fishing show in Atlanta he showed me what I was doing wrong with my fly fish casting, in just 3 minutes.
