I had the sore throat and congestion too. I tested positive for covid. Been in quarantine since Sunday. Gave me time to check put your FlatsClass University videos on Waypoint. I really learned a lot from the video on patterns. Ive watched it over and overuntili almost memorized it. Pulled out a map of the bay i usually fish and found the weed flats. Cant wait to get well and hit the bay in my boat. I also watched a lot of other videos. I have decided to try a 7' medium moderate fast action rod with my casting reel. Im hoping to be able to use the same setup for plugs, swim baits and plastcs. Thanks for enlighting us with your knowledge.

This pollen is killing me too , Cap. I used to be a 7’6” rod guy. Now I use 6’6”- to 7’2” tops. I’ve found 6’6” on a kayak is perfect.

@@flatsclassyoutube5502 yeah a longer rod just gets in the way when your in tight in a creek. You can creep up on fish , so you’re maybe throwing 20-25 feet at most. I would move to a 7 ft rod if the butt was a bit shorter. Fitzgerald should make a kayak rod. The market is there.

I do a double uni knot for line connections and if I do a long leader that goes threw the guides when I set the hook after 2-3 fish that knot breaks so iv just been doing a 1 1/2-2’ leader. Other people say they don’t have that problem??

Try learning the Modified Albright or FG Knot for longer leaders… they won’t break
