I just watched this one year old video for the first time. The main thing I liked about it was that it included your wife enjoying fishing and catching fish. It encourages my wife to go with me knowing that if your wife can have fun and catch fish that she can too. Much better to be able to share fun on the water with your wife included. Makes it easier to justify buying new gear and a spending couples time on the water.

What an excellent fight and a great video. Congrats to Blondie. Jimmy and I had a similar experience this weekend with him catching a 33" that wove itself all in the Mangrove and Limestone and we had to trace the rod and reel through and unthread the needle. I feel really dumb trying to offer you any advice but after a few years of fishing in similar settings in a similar sized skiff and a remote control based trolling motor, I have learned a trick that I no longer ever deviate from. Take few minutes to familiarize and adjust to driving the boat backwards using the trolling motor via the remote. It's a tad bit confusing at first, but so worth it. Whether landing a tangled fish or something mundane like simply retrieving a lure from the mangroves, I just request the fisherman to move to stern and I back the boat in. I always fish with the outboard fully trimmed up and it makes getting right up to the bank so much easier and your TroMo is always free and clear and ready to get you out of there in a jiffy. Since you're running it via remote, you can be back on the stern too helping out. Thanks for another great video. That GLF rod is a perfect tool for that fight.

Awesome video captain! Do you think the shimano GLF in a casting rod be good for ned rigs and paddle tails? I can see the glf can handle big fish, from that snook in the video
