The discourse around wolverine perfectly shows the reason why i hate tierlist videos done within the first month. 90% of the time, they're reactions based on minimal experience with the game. It's one of the things i hate the most about competitive gaming communities, so many people are in a rush to make tierlists and decide who is the best and worst in the first week. They talk about the game like they've been playing it for 3 years. I hate tierlist videos in general because they make competitive communities incredibly hive minded. Learned the hard way even with me playing as groot and walling up, Wolv can just leap and clear the height let alone the distance on top of the animation for your character to get up then proceeds to get frozen by luna or even slept by mantis. Good teams know when to follow up with him and keep you there long enough to secure.

Flats when using groot ult try to use on your wall so the get pulled into it. As groot shooting people near your walls is better because they take damage from the shift wall, so when you ult it does damage over time causing them to take the ult damage and the wall damage which melts squishes instantly

After playing a ton of quickplay then doing a few plays in Comp, I actually think Wolverine only really works _well_ in comp; you can still kinda make him work in quickplay, and I've gone several games as him as MVP or top killer, but like 9/10 you'll just be mid. I think this is because QP games are much more hectic and unorganized, stuff just sorta happens: sometimes you get 1 tank, sometimes none, sometimes 3 healers, sometimes none. Sometimes I get healers that are insanely good, then sometimes I get new players that are just figuring stuff out. There aren't any real tactics or communication. Wolverine kinda needs that to truly thrive. In Comp I get pretty damn good healers and a team that knows what they're doing. I also get organized pushing, and with that I'm getting tanks that I can snatch and disrupt, completely throwing off the entire enemy team. Much more reliance on tanks means I alone can be the deciding factor of whether an enemy push is successful or not. I gotta be honest... I think Wolverine is super fun and can absolutely slay... But I still kinda want some reworks or rebalances or SOMETHING, because I still feel like there's something off with him. He's like too good at tank busting but not very good at squishy squashing. He just feels very uneven, especially in quickplay, and because of his kit he gets banned sometimes in Comp.

Think that they should change wolverine's percent damage to a flat damage. He has the same issue as mauga in Overwatch where he can do damage to a squishy target, but going for tanks is just infinitely better. As a tank, there is very little counterplay.

I would rather play against Wolverine every game than ever play against Mauga for half a game. The Mauga release last December made me leave OW2 for good. Wolverine needs to kidnap to make his primary get the fire rate boost. His normal primary is good, but still really slow. So you’re not a menace like Mauga where you auto crit, burn, and fire like 200 bullets while being able to heal. I play Magneto, my buddy plays another tank. I bubble myself or him when we get kidnapped. Also, if you have teammates they can help too. Because it’s not like Wolverine is 500+hp tank that heals off his primary!

Usualy if I pick Wolverine, someone will lock Hulk for their HP bonus. Never do they every even try to throw me, or respond to the team up call. IF they even do somehow notice they CAN throw me, they do waht this Hulk in the video did, they throw you at nothing or not even near anyone, sometimes getting you out of position and killing you or wasting passive. There's a reason gold 1 is top 88% ppl are still really new to this game and genre of shooter (including myself)

Magneto does ok too because of his bubble as long as he got a team around, he could also bubble the other tank from being shredded. Hulk does good but u definitely gotta manage your resources wisely for Wolverine & play around it, even with the “counters”engaging a Wolverine as tank is risky. I wouldn’t say Hulk is a perfect counter but more so he can survive & defend Wolverines onslaught if done correctly
