Never,every Panama has a coating that’s similar to it, it’s acetone, almost the same thing they use to coat the hats with.

Just got a panama hat this week in natural straw. Does a panama look better on a guy with a full beard or clean shaven? I keep a beard for about 9 months each years but may shave if it looks better with the hat.

That’s a total matter of opinion. I had a coworker who used to say that all hats look better with facial hair. Personally, I don’t buy it. That was HIS opinion. I think every person has their own unique and personal preferences,based on their own tastes and experiences. I think sometimes you look in the mirror and you just know it’s right.. go with your gut feeling. I think no facial hair and a hat is a very neat, gentlemanly look,like the old monies etc.. and many ladies definitely like the clean cut, well groomed look.. but again, preferences 😊
