Thanks Gavin, your positive feedback inspires me to record more videos from inside. I'm not sure when, but it is on my bucket list to fly the CorilAir Historic Mail Flight. I get excited just mentioning it. I found out about this adventure just a few months ago. I think Spring would be a good time to go. am truly grateful for your kind words and support, thank you. @@leftcoastcorrie That mail flight would make for a fantastic video.

@Astromechy, I couldn't agree more, I get excited just thinking about flying into Desolation Sound in a Beaver on a mail flight. It seems a lot of my thoughts lately involve filming from the inside of a seaplane. I've always said I live in Spectacularville, because I do. I will never take for granted how fortunate I am to call BC home. BC is far from perfect, but it's sure beautiful and makes for great videos. Best...Corrie

What a fantastic video. Great view of a great place. Have you managed to have a chat with one of HA's Otter pilots to find out the actual approach and touch down speed? I only ask because I'd like to know how wildly wrong my guess was. Best wishes to Oscar. Nothing like starting young. I hope the bug stays with him in later life. Considering how much of the planet is covered by water I still fail to understand why there is not more use made of seaplanes for more than leisure aircraft.

Ian, it has totally slipped my mind to find out why one Cessna Grand Caravan is non-standard colours and your intriguing query of the actual approach and touch down speed. Oscar was the most adorable little boy. I hope is dream comes true, at 4, Oscar says he wants to be an air traffic controller. Thanks Ian for your always kind words, keep me on my toes engagement and unwavering support. We've been on, coming up to 300 flights on my channel. I am gobsmacked at the amazing community that visits the lounge week after week. What a journey! Best....Corrie

@@leftcoastcorrieI'm sure you will manage to do that. I have confidence in your ability I love the chance to share anything I can with like minded people. I can answer the question a little more accurately now as I've had a look at the POH. The approach is usually flown at 1.3 x the stall speed (in Gusty conditions it is usually to use 1.3+5). For a wheeled undercarriage the stall speed is 58 knots so 58x1.3 = about 75. You'll probably find that the float planes use 80 to allow for the extra weight of the floats (560 lbs) which will also increase the stalling speed.

Ian, you are an amazing anorak! I'm impressed at what you could find and how to do the calculation. I honestly don't know the inns and outs of aviation, I just love seaplanes. I'm so grateful you share the interesting facts you already know and info you dig up. You pick up where I leave off. I'm so fortunate you are on my team. Best....Corrie
