Thanks for this! I managed to get to Zuk hm with melee using your wave 4/9/14 strat. Super helpful. Ran out of food beginning of Zuk, but managed to get him to 350k. At least there's a checkpoint.

When do you use the trimmed masterwork armor vs obsidian armor? Is a good rule of thumb Waves 1-7 (TMW) and Waves 8+(Obsidian)? I’m getting smashed in HM as melee even with Elder overloads, Obsidian armor+TMW, Tokkul donation (“dmg reduction”), etc…

Use obsidian for any wave where you have trouble with damage intake, especially when it's coming from multiple combat styles. Generally waves 7, 8, 12 and 13 are considered the hardest to manage in this sense. 4/9/14 can also be tough if you don't have a plan. Though you should keep in mind that which waves you'll have trouble on will depend on factors like your damage output, route/lures, prayer flicking etc. so ultimately it's something you should get a feel for yourself.

Would anything about your setup change with enchantments? Like champion's ring? Also what are your relics?

Enchantments wouldn't change much besides the Zuk fight, the wave mobs shouldn't be alive long enough to benefit from bleed synergy items like the enhanced champion's ring. Relics used here are Berserker's Fury, Fury of the Small and Death Ward, but nowadays FotS isn't much of a buff compared to Jaws of the Abyss + Abyssal Scourge, so something like Conservation of Energy or Heightened Senses would be better.

@@ericnuss7817 The benefit spikes provide is small, and in my opinion not worth the time/effort spent creating them unless you're really minmaxing all the damage you can.

You can place your actual pocket slot on your action bar. That action bar slot then just acts based on whichever item is currently equipped. It's very convenient for using multiple pocket slot items.

Besides 4/9/14, the hard mode waves are identical to normal mode waves (besides stats), so following the wave breakdown in the description should get you through those. Is there anything specific that's difficult to manage?

@@RSAnimism You want to use Zerk with vigour and adrenaline renewal for the first challenge as you get dragged into the circle, then: 1) gbarge+decimate 2) destroy (DoT from barge) 3) hurricane 4) (limitless) assault, cancel with decimate immediately 5) strong basics like sever/decimate/cleave/gfury after you're done with the 5th Hur, you should be able to finish off anything that's still left with basics. If you don't have limitless, swap (4) and (5).

Not exactly a guide, but I wrote how I handled the waves in the video description, if that helps. Rotations on the waves can vary depending on how much AoE you need at any given point. I don't have mobile on my masterwork. I do have it on my Excalibur, though.

@@sadmod9969 Weird instance of ability stalling, but you can do it with any melee channeled ability, as long as you have gbarge active, probably was not intended but not a bug either

@@sadmod9969 It's a bit hard to define. Damage over time hit ticking even if you're out of range is fully intended, and the way Gbarge DoTs are coded make them hit based on when you cast an ability, not when it hits, so you'd technically be able to get the DoT effect without "hitting" your target (so going into attack range) in the first place. Though you lose the first hit of your ability this way. Like said above, it's probably not originally intended, but it's been a thing since ED2 release and hasn't been changed, so I personally count it as a weird feature by now.
