Hi Joe, I thought about that milk bottle, because I do collect Lowell, Mass bottles.. But the condition could have been a little better. Of course milks were re-used, so they usually have some wear. We bought the nursers because a relative collects them. The cross does add something to that bottle. 🙂😎👍

Cathy I am so happy you got more Uncle Wiggily's Adventures! How do you store them to prevent disintegration? And another question, do you know why "apothecaries" would have to be slugged out or penned out of a mold? And that hand made marble is gorgeous! Late to comment since I had to work the holiday weekend! Thank you for bringing us along to the flea market :)
@massriverpickers Жыл бұрын
Hello Rita! Sorry you had to work the long weekend, but glad you got around to us! (We get behind in watching videos, cuz we're too busy making them! 😁😎) I presently have the comics laying flat, in the "marble room" Lol, but I have some photo portfolios that might work (acid- free protective sleeves) I am a nature photographer as well, so I have archival supplies. I may frame one or two.. As I did with a Flip the Frog coloring book! 🐸 We are not sure why "apothecaries" was taken out of the mold.. 🤔 we see this occasionally on other bottles as well. That German hand-made marble was marked $18, but I got the marble, the trade card, and the bottle, ALL for $20! I should have bought more of those Cracker Jack prizes though. Thank you for watching.. I am a bit behind here too. Not sure if Friday's vid will go up the usual time this week.. we'll see. Great news though... "Chucky" brought five baby chucks out today! 🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔 (Yes, there will be a video and pics soon!) -Cathy 👋😃💖😎

Cathy thank you for taking the time to reply to my questions! I saw those cute babies. I don't think I have seen a woodchuck baby, and now you captured 5 little ones! No wonder you are so good at capturing wildlife on your river picks, it's because of your keen photographic sense and eye on your surroundings! Oh before I forget, that peewee marble is a beauty too, what a find!

Hmm, I will have to find that blue marble! I will look again at the video. I had just begun to go through them, and will have more photos and video to come. There are some beauties! But I do adore peewees! ( And I ended up getting that German marble, at the other table, for only $8.00 cuz I bundled!😁) But seriously, I need to part with some marbles. 🙄 Sell, give-away, or both!

Flea markets & such are my bane ! I cannot look away I watched twice ….. By far my favorite part was Drew’s “Mr Bottle”- bottles in the window The way the light comes thru moves me ! So cool 😎 PS - Mother has had a book on the table in the corner of the living room entitled uncle wiggly on the farm ! I have been looking at it all my life ! Cathy you and my mother both love rabbits !! 💕🙏

Hi There! (I was wondering where you were.. Lol) Yes, the flea market! My only regret.. that I did not make an offer on that entire lot of Cracker Jack prizes! I am still going through the marbles. 😁 Yes, we have bottles in windows all throughout the house! We should do more show & tell vids. 😃 I also have that book! (Uncle Wiggily on the farm) 💖 (And everywhere else the "Old Gentleman Rabbit" has been!) Drew reads a chapter to me every night after dinner. (I'm such a child.. but so is Drew, with his new/old Auburn telephone truck!) I do love bunnies: including Bugs! We have wild rabbits we feed as well. But I am just finishing a video about our new Chucks (ground hogs) We have five new chucks under our house! 🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔 It's been a long, busy week here.. We shall see if I can get maybe two shorter vids up this weekend, instead of one long one. I will try.😛 Another bottle show will be coming up this month too. (Weather permitting). Take care.. maybe read that Uncle Wiggily book yourself, when life gets too hard. It's a nice escape into simpler times. Best to you and Mother -Cathy 👋🙂😎(& Drew) 🙏💖

@@massriverpickers I had to reply - I’m one of those people that was a big letter writer back in the day, and I have a suspicion that you were also - Cathy & Drew I’m touched that you even remember me and my issues with mother … that’s where I’ve been -her dementia has spiraled into areas that are beyond my capabilities, and she now requires professional help with medical people available 24, seven, 365 -as I write to you my older brother, and I are arranging to put mother in assisted living …. Boy this is hard !! ( mother is now screaming out loud which is the way she wakes up every morning, for Jesus to come and help her ) …. I love that Drew reads to you , that’s so awesome!! Well I gotta go help mother have a great day!

Of course we remember you and your Mom! We are not so large a channel (we recognize and come to know our loyal viewers.. and we care about you!) My heart goes out to you.. this horrible disease, and the toll it takes. My Mom lost her ability to speak after a while. Before that it was always "I want to go home" (but she WAS home😦). And unfortunately, I had no say in her end care. Sending up prayers for you!! 🙏🙏 GOOD that she is calling for Jesus, but sometimes it SEEMS like God isn't hearing!😥 Stuff like this can really shake your faith. Please hang in there!! As for writing letters... Yes, I was a big letter writer for years. I had friends who moved away, and some have passed.. But I have kept every letter, and I'm glad! I had a correspondence for years with a singer of a famous late 1960s-early 1970s group. I met him in the 80's, and would go back stage every show. He has passed.. I still have many hand-written letters from him (about 20 or so!) So glad I have them! People don't write anymore.. it's all email, and less personal now. Anyway, our latest vid went up tonight.. it's our new little woodchuck babies living under our house! 🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔 Hope you enjoy it. -Cathy 🙂

Hello Drew and Cathy, You got some awesome deals at that Flea Market. That seems to be the one heading to Nashua and Amherst NH. Not saying unless you say where this is. Lew and I have been to this one many times. That Derry NH blob is a really nice find and what a awesome deal on that bottle. I have a Manchester NH blob like that one I purchased at a flea market for five dollars two years ago. Love those marbles you bought Cathy. Awesome deal on that price. I would of bought them to and that little one that caught your eye is surely the best of all of them from that lot. Drew is lucky to get that Auburn telephone utility truck, I would of bought that for my collection to. I have quite a bit of Auburn toy vehicles. I don't have that truck yet though. Maybe some day. So many nice finds there and Lew and i enjoyed watching this video very much. We hope to go to this flea market on the first Sunday of June 2023.We put five bottle digging videos on my Jeffrey Hull Jr KZbin channel and that was a May 24, 2023 dig we just did. We hope you can go digging soon and hopefully with us sometime to. We always enjoy watching your mud larking , river hunting videos. Hope you are doing well and we are doing good. Take care and happy hunting to the both of you.----Jeffrey Hull Jr. (Jeff & son Lew)

Hi Jeff & Lew, We don't mind saying this was the Hollis NH flea market.. (it is the river and beach locations we worry about people trashing). There weren't many dealers that day, but those who were there had good stuff and low prices! It will be a hot one today, so we are headed for the coast. 🏖️ 🌞 We will definitely watch your videos! Probably tonight. The river is coming down... We hope to get out there soon! Early summer is best, before all the algae grows. Be careful if you go out today.. 88° 🌞 -Cathy & Drew 👋😃😎👍

You gotta love those old cartoons! I only know of Uncle Wiggly because you purchased some from another vendor in the past. Everyone our age should know Peter Rabbit, but I never saw the cartoon. Marbles are just stunning, I liked the bottles also. Let’s not forget the old Cracker Jack toys. I remember my daddy laying on the couch watching the Philly baseball game. He taught me the song “Take me out to the ball game, take me out to the crowd, buy me some peanuts and crackerjack’s I don’t care if we ever get back “ blah, blah. I finally learned it and when the Phillies came on , I would sit on his stomach and sing it before the game started. I was like 3 maybe 4 years old 😂😂😂 Great memories for him and I. Have a Happy Memorial Day weekend 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜

Hi Susan! Wow, great memories!! Thank you for sharing! Yes, I grew up with Peter Rabbit and Old Mother West Wind. Thornton Burgess was from Massachusetts, so his books were read in my elementary school. Now Drew reads these books to me in the evenings!I'm such a child! 🙄 (So is Drew 😄.. nice toy truck he bought!) I didn't know about Uncle Wiggily until later in life, but there are a lot of Uncle Wiggily collectables out there: toys, games, books, buttons.. Basically, I love bunnies! (Including Bugs Bunny!) I should have bought more of those Cracker Jack prizes. And yes we need to sell stuff! Soon!!! I may have to take time off to get a shop together, online. It's a lot of work, but so is setting up at flea markets and bottle shows. I'm considering doing some give-aways too! We are drowning in stuff!! 😬-Cathy💖

So many cool purchases! I had never heard of Uncle Wiggily till I saw him in your videos. Was that a national comic, or local to Boston? Love the telephone truck!
@massriverpickers Жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony! Uncle Wiggily began as a comic in the Newark NJ news ca 1910, and Howard Garis went on to publish over 70 books.. plus there are many old tin toys, games, buttons... (I have quite a collection). Drew reads the old children's books to me! 😁 I also collect Thornton Burgess Peter Rabbit series. Burgess was from Massachusetts. Both wrote local comics and books that became famous nationally. There is also an English Peter Rabbit ( by Beatrix Potter) but I collect the American Peter Rabbit. The comics at the flea market were 1920s. Yes, the telephone truck is in great condition! I was surprised Drew bought it, as he is usually just on a mission for bottles, but it was a good buy! 😃😎👍
