Hi Anthony! Yes, we did well at the flea! Of course we'd rather be in the river.. We are STILL waiting for inland river levels to go down (record high rainfall last year!) But when the river is high, we still have the beach, or the flea market, or metal detecting (which I have been quite busy with lately). Sorry so late replying.. it's been a busy weekend! Glad you enjoyed the video! -Cathy (& Drew) 👋😃😴

Cathy and Drew- thanks for getting back to me . Would appreciate info on beaches in the Gloucester/rockport area… thanks so much.
@massriverpickers7 ай бұрын
Hi Eileen! Thanks for commenting again. Anyway, a great little beach in Gloucester for beach glass, pottery, beads, buttons, and occasional pipe stems, doll parts, is Pavilion Beach. Go when the tide is still going out, so you can grab newly exposed finds . Lots of stuff along the hotel stretch there. We have a couple of beachcombing videos from there (in our beachcombing play list). Don't bother with Good Harbor beach, or Wingaersheek... There's not much there, and it costs 💲💲 to go there. (Pavilion is free, if you can find parking close by). Niles beach is excellent, but parking is for residents only.. you will get an expensive ticket! 😬. Check out channel @SeashoreMudlark . She hunts Gloucester beaches pretty much daily, and shows her finds. We have collaborated a couple of times. I haven't been to Rockport in ages, but I am reading (internet) that Front Beach is good for finds. It takes patience and good eyes, but stuff is out there... Especially after storms. Oh, and later in the year (summer) an ice cream truck stops at the end of Pavilion Beach (Gloucester) in the afternoon! 😋 But do check out our beachcombing Gloucester vids, and also Seashore Mudlark. I will look for the links to our vids for you. Hope this helps! -Cathy 😁💖 PS. Not all our beachcombing vids are from Gloucester (unnamed beaches are other locations along the North Shore).

Just discovered your videos and am a new subscriber. My aunt had an antique shop in Mass. years ago and she and I used to go pickin together when I was in town. I still like a good pickin adventure and go to the fleas, mudlarking, estate sales, you name it.

💥 Great video Cathy !!! I love all the eye candy 🍭 that flea markets provide…. I’ll watch this one a couple times … Go Bruins !!! Hey Drew, I once had Bobby Orr’s autograph when I was in sixth grade and someone stole it out of my lunchbox !!

Hi Christopher! Glad you enjoyed the flea market. We will be trying a different one soon (near the one that closed). And next weekend we have a bottle show/swap meet (weather permitting). We are taking a break this week, (from video editing) as we are celebrating two things: my B-day, and Drew's official, FULL retirement!! 🥳😎👍 BTW, Drew is from NY, so he is a Yankees fan! (Not a good thing here in Boston Lol). He is not into hockey. But I was a big B's fan in the 1980s - early 90s. After that, all my fav players were gone (retired). Sorry to hear about your Bobby Orr autograph 😞. I have an autographed photo of Andy Moog, but that's not quite the same. -Cathy

Drew says "Thanks Amanda! "😎👍 We are about an hour away from Boston. It does have some good dining ( North End Italian restaurants and bakeries), and historical sites and museums. Awesome porchases, Cathy. I love your Evening in Paria collection, and the heliotrope bottle. I can't think of anything prettier than a whittled bottle in a windowsill! Beautiful jugs!❤
@massriverpickers7 ай бұрын
Hi Cynthia, Those Evening in Paris Bakelite bottle holders come in other shapes too, including a shoe, a grandfather clock, and a clam/scallop. They occasionally show up on eBay. But the owl and turtle are my favorites! The jugs were not cheap, but were scarcer, local ones that Drew didn't already have. Love how our front window is looking now, with some springtime sun behind the bottles.. just had to share that view! Thanks Cynthia! 👋😃😎👍💖

Hey, great finds. I luv the selenium pink gloucester milk bottle. I was there 8am last sun...wish I has seen ya... that table with the plastic trays of marbles is a favorite spot for me. Always look forward to seeing what's new.

Hey Melissa! 👋😃 Sorry we missed you at the flea. We also arrived at 8am. I probably could have found more marbles in those plastic bins, had I taken more time to look at them all.. but I'm happy with the ones I got. So "selenium pink" is what you call that peachy color? (milk bottle). It is not a color we see often. It is definitely not amethyst! I have a machine- made inkwell that color too. Hope to see you at the flea, or the beaches soon! We'll be in touch! -Cathy (& Drew) 😁😎👍

Nice bottles, trade cards and marbles. I have a SO Richardson's South Reading Mass Bitters. With the longer neck, extremely whittled and large rough open pontil. I dug it in Maine when I was 10 years old.

Hi There! Thanks for commenting! Those open pontil SO Richardson's are nice bottles! Yes, Drew found one in our local river some years back. Nice that you still have the one you dug when you were ten! Quite a find, for a ten year old!! I still have some of the bottles I dug when I was 15. (Those are not pontiled though Lol). Drew started bottle digging when he was ten, where he grew up, on Staten Island. Drew now collects mostly Boston bottles and stoneware. My collection is more general. Hello Cathy and Drew. This is a awesome video and you had found some nice stuff to buy at the Todd farm flea market. Lew and I like the marbles Cathy chose. Awesome Swan milk bottle from Everett Mass! 🙂those are rare and we have never seen one before. We collect milk bottles and have some with cows or farm houses and barns on them. (Farm & Dairy scenes basically) Nice clay jugs you bought there! 🙂What a nice and rare Clinton Mass jug! 🙂 We hope you guys can dig again soon and Lew and I hope to dig soon also. We wish good health and luck to you guys. Take care and happy hunting to the both of you. ----Jeffrey Hull Jr. (Jeff & son Lew )

Hi Jeff & Lew, We did ok at Todd Farm... The swan milk bottle and the jugs were from Salt Marsh Antiques (also in Rowley). Drew keeps saying "We don't collect milk bottles" but we keep bringing them home!🤔 I like the old 1901 patent milk, with the etched B on it! Must be scarce because the rubbing (of the embossing) is not in Dave Graci's book. We will do one, to send to him, as we have been doing for years. Hope you got my late reply to your comment from last weekend... It was a busy week here! Thanks for watching and commenting! Hope you guys get out some too! -Cathy 🙂😴

@@massriverpickers Oh yes, you did go to the Salt marsh Antique shop. Lew and i have been there many times. Nice finds there just like at the flea market as well. Yes I agree with you on how rare that milk bottle is. There a milk bottles that are so old that we have the same issue with not finding the rubbing of the embossing on them. (Before 1906 We guess? ) We have etching on milk bottles like the one you bought at the shop that we found digging.. We will check out the other comments you wrote to us and thank you for writing back to us. --Jeff & Lew 🙂

@massriverpickers7 ай бұрын
That Whiting milk is really cool, with the hand-etched "B" on the front, and AUG 13, 01 patent on the base! It is not in Dave Graci's book (Eastern Mass milk bottles) so we did a rubbing of the embossing to send to him, (as we always do, for future updates). C&D 👋😃😎👍
