The penmanship from days gone by was amazing, my grandfather won an award for his penmanship.😊

Nice! My penmanship would never win an award! Although my 7th grade history teacher picked me to copy his notes into a new notebook for him!

I enjoy watching your thrift store hauls. My favorite was the 1956 calendar. The year I was born.

I LOVE the 1956 calendar. I don’t remember seeing May as you were flipping through. Fun haul as usual.😊

Lovely finds from your flea market visit Diane. I love old letters with envelopes, they seem to have something mystical to tell. Have a good week and sunny warm greetings from Germany!

I always like to see your finds from the flea markets! I enjoyed this one today. I love the stamp collection envelopes...at least that's what they look like! I also love the old calendar today!

Yes, I think someone was collecting stamps on envelopes from around the world.

Looks like someone collected stamps. Back in the old days people send to other countries with a self addressed envelope to have them sent back with their country's stamps. Glad you saw Bob again!🥰🥰🥰

Yep, that's what it looks like!

You do find such cool stuff. Like the collection of empty envelopes, I'm guessing part of a stamp collection. In my MIL's house I've found boxes and boxes of envelopes, from the original owner who was a stamp collector. The tablecloth and your story of having made one reminded me that I have 3 crocheted by my Grandma. 2 have never been used. 1 has been used 3 times. At my parent's wedding reception, their 25th anniversary, and my wedding reception. One of them is funny. Grandma was using a beige thread, ran out near the end and finished the last 3 big scallop edge sections in white.

Aww, what a special tablecloth collection! (I didn't make one; my mother did. I never learned to crochet.)

Fun stuff! In the 60's, when our family would go to the State Fair, my brothers and I would have a contest to see who could collect the most leaflets/pamphlets 😂 What I give to have just what I collected in one day! Oh my 😮😊

Your mother probably threw them all away when you got home!

Cornelia Meigs wrote Invincible Louisa: a biography of Louisa may Alcott which won a newberry medal. You’d enjoy reading it! And you’re right: looks like a card from the Authors card game but I don’t remember her being part of that game. I have sevl of her books generally youth historical fiction. Yep love those one of a kind things like valvoline check list and tile job.

Good to know. I'm wondering if there was an "updated" version of the authors card game at some point. It would be interesting to find more cards from it!
