Thanks for the list and I do have some of your ideas but I also have several different ones. First the Touratech USB plug that replaces the euro plug. I installed it and it was very easy to use but after a month it stopped working. They replaced it and then the new one quit. What a bummer because that was such a great thing but only if it worked. Next up is the phone mount. I installed the RAM, from RAM, self-charging phone mount very nice. For me instead of relocating the power outlet I installed a SAE pigtail with cover on the right side just under the seat. Not only can you plug in your battery tender but your tire air pump will work as well. Also, for my heated gear I bought a flush mounted plug in with spring loaded cap from Gerbing heated gear. It is mounted on the left side on the plastic cover. Very nice looking. I also added grip puppies for the long trips. thanks

Nice to see a younger man want a GSA, You're so right about the stabilizer. I want BMW to extend the windshield down over the headlight and redesign the brackets to be longer down into the part of the front making it stronger.

I’m kind of surprised you haven’t installed Rox 2 inch adjustable handlebar risers. I think they make night and day difference for better comfort in riding upright and standing up while riding.
@alrivera3422 Жыл бұрын
Good video. Especially, since I just entered the world of the ADV Bikes. I purchased and installed that same backrest as that was the only configuration my wife felt to be the most comfortable. The pad-kit that goes on the BMW top case isn't that comfy for longer rides. My dilemma is, I can't attach the BMW top case with the backrest due to it taking about 2 inches of space needed for the top case to engage the OEM rack. By chance, do you know if the rack extension would work for the BMW top case? Or, do you know of any other solutions out there that would make the top case clear the needed two inches?

@David-vb8ih Жыл бұрын
My only concern with the placement of the RotoPack would be the potential for a road stone at high speed to pop a pinhole in the can and spew vapor over the end of the exhaust pipe. Shaking the fuel aerates it, expands it and pressurizes the tank ever so slightly but still enough to have slight positive pressure. Heating it over the exhaust has same effect. You wouldn't notice it at high speed but the momment you stop poof. I could make a hot dog joke here, but I will avoid that, pets are family and I just would hate to see anything ever happen to a pet. The likelyhood is slim to none that it will happen, but the chances are that it could happen. Great video otherwise, thinking about aquiring a BMW and checking out mods , I especially like the cell phone adapter and relocate for the battery tender port.

Lots of good advice. That phone setup is ghetto though. Needing to have an entire phone case just to attach to the bike is silly.

Problem with the crash bar reinforcement is you’ll break your shins in half when you have an accident 🤷♂️. I think there’s a reason BMW left that space open.

I am watching your video and stopped at the quad lock mount. I wanted to let you know that the iPhone 10 that I had was mounted on a ram mount / 2016 BMW R1200GSA and the camera stabilizer within the camera was damaged as a result of the vibrations being felt by the phone. I did some research and found that quad lock makes a stabilizer along with the quad lock for the iPhone. The iPhone was repaired at the Apple store for about 80 bucks and after I hooked it up to the new hardware, it worked fine. No video shaking. Hope this helps.

Last week I attended a presentation of the R1300 GSA by BMW reps at a dealer in Pennyslvania, USA. I've owned a R1100GS and R1150GS. Now I ride a F750GS which I like. I've always like the bigger GSA though. Anyway, I don't care for this new R1300GSA for several reasons. Not so much the look, as I believe form follows function. But there are just too many high tech gadgets. I don't like the X headlight, the lack of a proper tailight, the front turn signals in the handlebars, and all that front and rear radar stuff. Certainly don't need the automatic transmission ASA technology. And the ESA going up and down depending on your speed. There are so many 2024 GSA still left over, and I am tempted to grab one at a discount.

Hi there, great content mate, I’ve got the 2021 model, they have put a USB connector on the dash now, and moved the other connector to below the seat. Ive also got a coiled spring like cable from the socket to my phone, a lot neater and doesn’t flap about. I’m a short guy too, I found looking though a visor and a screen, when it’s raining, very difficult, and at night very dangerous. Did I see a Zumo XT sat nav? Ive got one too, awesome.

OMG! This probably adds 50+ lbs to a 600 lbs bike. I heard mods and thought weight savings. What is the point of adding a fuel tank to a GSA? Seems to be for show, rather than function. I'm guessing this bike never gets ridden on an off-road trail, just road and a little dirt.
