"A girl with no friends and an empty heart." I... felt that. Fleabag is such a complex character, relatable in a very raw, human way. I truly believe Phoebe Waller-Bridge's work is something never seen before. A masterpiece, in my opinion. I take this show in my heart and I'll watch it over and over again and I'll never get tired of it...

I'm so drawn to messy, sad characters. Most people don't know what it's like to walk through this world having given up, being overwhelmed everyday and not trusting people or knowing how to be with them anymore. Or even wanting to. Which is a good thing.

I needed this video today. It's the 4th anniversary of my friend's suicide. I don't think I'm much like Fleabag because I'm not that much fun and freespirited...but I think I need to watch this show again. I might relate to it more than I thought.

This video is beautiful, it completely opened my eyes to a new angle on love in fleabag, with fleabag opening herself up so much to her family and friends as well as the priest. This video is amazing and so insightful, the editing too, I'm in awe! Now to watch fleabag with this new appreciation, thank you 💜💜

Fleabag I have lost, I have lost so much That I don’t recognize myself anymore I keep talking to myself And my heart is sore I know how to love Maybe that's why it's so painful I can’t smile like others do And that leaves me hateful People are all I have got Because I don’t know anything else Living in the past And can’t comprehend what is next All this love I have I don’t know what to do with it I want to cry all the time I just want one bit, one single bit All am I is a pencil with a rubber on its end Because people make mistakes ~Shivam

I felt so sad at the end of season 2 though. Maybe I am remembering it wrong, but it felt like after being rejected by the priest she closed herself off again, even from us, the viewers. That she was she was saying goodbye to us, pretending everything was alright because she felt completely alone.
@MellanClear4 жыл бұрын
omg my interpretation is so much more optimistic! For me, we've seen all along that her talking to the audience was a toxic coping mechanism that made her flee reality, prevented her from confronting it by trying to paint a specific picture of it. Like, compare the scene of the dinner, veeery uncomfortable, where she constantly feels the need to escape by talking to us, VS the scene with Kristin Scott Thomas where she feels present in the moment and honest and vulnerable: not once does she look to us in the middle of this scene. And so for me, the end is her finally embracing her reality and confronting it head on, knowing she will be all right eventually. She no longer needs her toxic link with the audience. She is freeing herself from her impulse to escape by whatever means necessary (breaking the fourth wall, sex...). And now she knows she can fall in love. And that she probably will again.
