Fleece Stocking Hat :: Sewing Tutorial ::

I made a xl hat for my xl head.
I am going to show you step by step how to plan, draft a pattern, and construct a fleece stocking hat. These have a nice long tail that looks like an elf hat or a ski hat. These are unisex and can be made in child or adult sizes. Make great holiday gift in favorite colors, school colors or sports team colors.

I think if you make 2 cones. Sew the inner 2 panels together of one cone to the 2 inner panels of the second. The inner panels would be shorter, I think, since they would only reach the crown of your head instead of to the hairline. Hmmm also the inner panels may need to be slimmer since they would be going across your head instead of around it. You could always resew those seams to take a larger seam allowance to reduce the bulk little by little, and then trim the extra away once it's the right size. I would love to see your project if you end up doing it.
