I 100% see and feel that mental image of countryside farmland in the middle ages from earlier music from Fleet Foxes. After listening to Crack-Up countless times for years, and it becoming my favorite album of all time, Crack-Up is unique as it gives me mental images of rocky coasts, brewing storms, rushing winds, and dramatic landscapes, much like some of the paintings by Albert Bierstadt. Simultaneously though, it gives me images of sunny mornings by the Mediterranean, springtime fields, windchimes, and songbirds. It's the contrast that makes the album so interesting. It feels like nature itself in all of its changes in weather and season, while all taking place in generally the same area.

Your vocabulary is impressive, you do a really good job explaining the emotions of the songs!

In regards to what you said about On Another Ocean (January/June), I think the song title perfectly explains the abrupt change in tone.

That's one way of seeing it yes. Been a fan of the Foxes for a long time?

Umm, since a little before this album came out, yeah. I hope I can see them live some day. From what i've heard they sound really good Live. Very clean.

Yes, with the name of the song, the transition definitely reflects what I was to expect when I first heard this, and it blew my mind.

This is a band I would listen to, (while I'm painting, ha !) I don't know if I really like the voice of the lead singer, music is fine. TX again for the review!

Do it! Maybe you end up with the next Mona Lisa. No problem Jac. Thank you for checking in so often :) It means a lot to me.

Jacqueline Diesel I don't actually mind his vocals. There's just something about it that just wasn't clicking for me in this album. Maybe their other ones might do something for me. I really like the review though. Thank you!

David Donovan Yeah same here. If it wasn't for the few amazing songs i would've easily given it a 5/10 😑 Check out Helplessness Blues. Personally i liked that one much more. Thanks for watching and commenting David. Have a great weekend 😊
