Fleet of Fortune World Event (Season 11 Chest of Fortune Location) | Sea of Thieves

I like to do skeleton fleet events in a solo brigantine. If you do a full left or right lock on the wheel, you’ll take a few hits but eventually all ships will be behind you. You’ll be in their blindspot and all you gotta do is simply raise any one of the sails to get your angle then lower it again. You’ll find yourself firing on the enemies and hitting them whilst being on their blindspot taking no hits. If you have a cannon row boat you dont even need to do that. You can simply just hit the and remain in their blindspot. I even went AFK once and came back still in a chase lol. Once you kill the fleet and take the loot, you’ll likely be able to outrun any other ships you see too including other brigantines if you spend enough time getting efficient at it.

Couple of notes. The chest of fortune will spawn off a galleon. Not necessarily the last ship in the boss wave. You can grab the chest of fortune and make a break for it while the cloud is still in the sky. Also, legitimate strategy is to tuck on the skeleton galleon itself and grab the chest as it spawns before it ever reaches the surface. It will spawn on the outside most ring of loot. Done this twice.

Someone tell me if I'm wrong but didn't they use the same red ship cloud when ashen chests with the books and stuff first came out? And that's how you used to get them?

Where exactly do you go about getting Athena's chests/loot now? AFAIK you used to get those from forts of fortune as well? Do they spawn alongside the fleet now?

Yeah, Fort of Fortunes are still around. You just have to wait for them to appear on your server. We've been seeing them come up after we dive to a new server for a Raid Voyage and complete it. The next World Event on the server that pops up has a chance of being one.

Did this once, the chest of fortune was on the final galleon. If the battle is contested, you can board that galleon and grab it and sneak off. Then let the other crew have the ship.....if you can pull that off.

It let you take the chest off the ship before it sank? That shouldn't be possible. At least it hasn't worked for us.

No, the chest moved to the Fort of Fortune for this season so it’s just regular Skeleton Fleets.

We've had good luck by diving to a World Event, completing it, and then waiting for the next emergent World Event to spawn. So doing a quick Ashen Lord for example.

The loot is the default loot that doesn't take Trading Companies into account. So you can expect to find loot for all the Trading Companies like before.

Naaah this info makes me even more vexed😤 Im a new player only been playing for about a week but 2 days ago when I saw the ashen rapier and decided to try and grind ashen chests and keys I went to go fight my first skeleton fleet (solo slooping) by sailing to the red ship in the sky, I managed to get to the last wave but then got jumped and smoked by another player who went on to finish it and took the loot. I was ok missing out on some ashen chests and keys but now looks like I missed a chest of fortune😭

Fleet of fortune should be scaled on ship type and number of players. fleet is so annoying to do on a sloop and horrible when doing solo

it is ok for solo, as long as you control the sekeleton cannons to prevent them from firing
