I love the fact that Christine put the reporter into place by making his reference to them as being ladies and musicians instead of girls just being backup singers. These two are hugely different and recognized.

Christine's humor " I had already been in the band as a lady.. "😅 she was so clever and funny naturally.. Fleetwood Mac is one of the classiest rock bands of all time. One of the best rock n roll bands of all time.😊 legendary. Nice to see the 3 lead singers and all 3 primary writers interviewed back in 1977, during their legendary meteoric rise while on tour for Rumours. Love seeing their sophistication here.

Unfortunately, Lindsey and Stevie had already broken up and Lindsey was already involved with Carol Ann Harris. This was an interview and so they would certainly project cohesion and harmony but Lindsey kept his distance from Stevie outside of the band. Stevie herself was already involved with Don Henley (Eagles).

@@michaelberthelot3594 - I disagree. The rythm section - the drums and the bass - is also a significant part of what make Fleetwood Mac a great band. Mick Fleetwood does an excellent job always, and John McVie is a top notch bassist - they both make the very solid foundation which on Lindsey, Christine and Stevie can display their brilliance. The girls were 2/5 of what made Fleetwood Mac great. I think they all equally deserve to share the glory of Fleetwood Macs greatness.

The 2 ladies MADE THE BAND FANTASTIC! The audiences craved Christine & Stevie because of their softness, subtle sounds, harmonies, intensity, & overall moderating influences. If there were only guys -- the sound would never have blossomed. It would have been too harsh. I LOVE FLEETWOOD MAC! * Cav *

Definitely overlooked as one of the guitar greats. So many songs he perfected with his choice of phrasing... Two of my favorite examples would be 1) You make loving fun at 2:35 the little solo there and 2) Dreams which his guitar work evoked every bit as much of a haunted, longing feeling as Stevie's singing. Lindsey had a great finger-style technique similar to Mark Knoplers

Fleetwood Mac was unique . I say “was”because without Christine McVie, may she RIP, it really isn’t Fleetwood Mac. It’s the only Rock Band of its era with two female leads that appealed to male listeners just as much as one with male leads would, and it was massively successful. I think much of that, most of it even, is due to Christine. Her voice had an androgynous quality that was attractive to all. Such a loss!

Huge historical musical synchronicity that they met up at sound City... Would love to have been at their first dinner meet at a small Mexican restaurant around Van nuys.

If you've never listened to Fleetwood Mac's early blues albums then check them out. You're in for a lesson on the roots of British rock music.

Good grief. Grace Slick fronted Jefferson Airplane a full decade earlier. Fanny was a successful all-girl band years earlier. The all-girl Liverbirds started in 1963. Kleenex was an amazing all-girl band year before this. How could the interviewer even have asked the question?

Knowing what we know now about the affairs, couples splitting up, tc i have tosay this is probably the most professional group ever. You know there had to be fighting and arguments but apparently they were mature enough to keep working and working well together. Its really quite impressive.

Such different times. Kids grew up very resilient. Manners & kindness were important values. The teasing was relentless & often really funny. That was an era of a plethora of long lasting 4:38 bands bc we’d earned skills of compromise, diplomacy etc. Tough skin. Solo acts now. Very few bands. Certainly none the caliber of them. Everyone’s so touchy. Triggered. Self absorbed.

Christine is a massive part of the Fleet Mac sound, but Stevie's voice is the one that has the hook. And Lindsey's. Those two are the powerhouse on vocals. Such a solid band. Rumors is the King of the 70s

@@amandajstarI think it’s pointless really to say who was the better of the two. Christine and Stevie are equal powers in the band talent wise . They both contributed so much to the portfolio we listen to.

@@hale_jp_1957 I can see Christine McVie being portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence, she has a considerable resemblence to her from my point of view. And Stevie Nicks being portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy. About John McVie and Mick Fleetwood no one comes to my mind really, they have very particular factions
