Just saw them perform this in Tampa Friday night, they embraced, he kissed her cheek/forehead & then he walked off the stage with tears; she choked up but no tears. This song reminds me of my 1st love when I was 19. I'm 58 now. After 3 years of what seemed to be a storybook romance, she wrote me a short and blunt dear John letter, stating no reason for her decision to walk away, and completely disappeared out of my life. I was never able to relive nor recreate the magic and innocence of that relationship ever since. I still wonder about what could've happened to her. Did she get married? Did she have children? Is she even still alive? A few years ago I decided to satisfy my curiosity and run the risk of being rejected by performing an extensive search for her over the web since we live in different countries to no avail. I finally had to settle for the harsh reality that she's gone forever and settle for the cruel fact that what was could never be again. I think they are both too strong minded for one another. Meaning someone has to bend and give in from time to time and it seems like neither one are willing to do that for some reason. To me, he made Stevies songs a success with his musical masterminded talent, but I feel maybe she took it for granted and maybe didn't aporeciate it and maybe he lived her so much but couldn't have her the way he needed to fulfill his life as a man! Obviously he wanted a family andcthat was not going to hapoen with Stevie. So sad and heart wrenching
