I recently purchased one of these from eBay and love it running number #80 005... it will be a great addition to my collection. I like the Fleischmann Locos they are well-built and of a much higher standard than most of the other well-known brands. I will need to open mine up shortly as it is swimming in lubrication oil.

I have one of these locos....I rescued it from being thrown in the trash, after a clear out of a deceased estate... It is in pretty good condition, but, as yet, not running. Hopefully I can fix it... It is a heavy weight - all metal... I love it...

The Fleischmann Br 80 together with a Br 89 (T 3 of Prussian origin) were the first model locomotives I received as presents from my father when I had good marks at school. This was in 1955 or 1956. They were accompanied by a rack of old style passenger coaches ( Bavarian type). I still have all of them today and run them from time to time, among the 50+ models from Fleischmann in my stable. With a minimum of maintenance, they seem able to last and work without time limit! Congrats and thanks for posting this nice video. You can search my KZbin channel and watch a number of videos about my extensive Fleischmann collection - and many other train makers. Key words for the search: collection / philippe / Danjou / HO / Fleischmann. Feel free to subscribe and exchange information !

Thank you very much Philippe for such a comment with nostalgia full of memories since when we were very young!!! I agree with you for the fact that Fleischmann steam locos they can run for ever. I have all BRs from all eras of the german railways in my collection and from all other manufacturers... Trix, Rivarossi, Roco, Lilliput, etc. I am proud of this part of my engines collection. I will subscribe of course to your channel. People like us are rare as our collection :-)

Poli aureo ! Ya sou. ( excuse the incorrect spelling !). This loco and its sister the 030 T3 were my first model trains when I was 12 years old... this was 63 years ago 🤔🤔🤔

@@sidirodromeas I can assure you that railway modelling and collecting trains is a very effective method to keep yourself lively and enthousiastic at any age. It involves travelling to see exhibitions and museums ( e.g. the Marklineum in Gőppingen , see the two videos I posted recently), going places to see real railways ( e.g RHB in Switzerland), chatting on social networks with nice fellow enthusiasts like yourself, and doing a lot of gym to play trains on the carpet.... I m always very busy.....Best regards my friend!

Good to see the quality that has this running so well heading towards seventy years. Is there any information in the book what scale was used for these early Fleischman trains ? I am seeking confirmation of my understanding that these used 1/80 scale before moving to 1/87 scale as late as the seventies. All running on HO track of 16.5 mm gauge and called HO scale for both types
@sidirodromeas2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately I cannot confirm the exact scale of 1/80 or 1/87 either :-)
