Another informational video. I had a kniecker and did not care for it. I tried the Post Fleshing Knife, made in Canada. The difference was like the $10 special and the knecker. Better steel, holds and edge longer and better then the kniecker. I liked it so much I became a dealer for them. If you get a chance try one. Tom

Tom Riblett right on I fully agree. the post steel is far superior to the necker. since I made that video I have since also went to a post. I was using it in the skinning and fleshing video you commented on earlier.

GREAT DEMO! As you said most people don't know the proper way to sharpen any type of edge and you just did a GREAT job of it.

So your saying to sharpen both sides of the knife?

UrbanHunterz yes but you still need to maintain the original bevel

how sharp do you want your edge to be? razor sharp or slightly dull?

its personal preference really. I prefer mine as sharp as i can get it.

If a man could find a thick leather strap and nail it up in between two wall boards and keep it fairly tight a few medium or heavy swipes across leather really helps just about any blade. I use leather a lot to keep my blade thinned and smooth you can even do it after sharpening with a steel or stone. Good video

When you get a new Necker do you sharpen the cutting edge? Looks real squared off...

Order a kit off amazon with beam and the fleshing knife is dull its rounded not sharp at all 😞

nolana ricci f&t post freedom brand fleshing knife is a good knife that's what I use and it was fairly cheap
