03-04-1976 Birmingham City 3 Aston Villa 2

The 3 Blues goals (Terry Hibbitt, Kenny Burns & Trevor Francis) from a 3-2 win against the Villa. I found this some time ago on the BCFC archive site on KZbin which has now been taken down. I hope my site doesn't go the same way, as I'm not trying to upset anyone from a copyright point of view, just trying to give fans some footage that doesn't appear to be available anywhere else.

The really sad thing about Trevor Francis's time with Blues is that there were not cameras at every game back then. He scored some truly memorable and remarkable goals that will never be seen including one from in his own half vs Blackpool in a night game. I was fortunate enough to see his career at Birmingham and was devastated when he left. The club never had enough ambition to put a whole team around him just bits and pieces otherwise who knows where the team could have gone. Its always tough being a Blues fan with Aston Villa being so successful but at least we got to see some really great players at the end of their careers like Frank Worthington, Archie Gemmill, Howard Kendall. We lost players like Francis, Burns, Latchford, Seaman who all went on to have truly great careers.

I was heartbroken when we sold Bob Latchford to Everton. We got some cash, Archie Styles and Howard Kendall in return, which seemed a crap deal. Howard Kendall turned out to be one of the best players I've ever seen lol That ball whipped in for Francis to head home was a beauty!

@@pencilpauli9442 Yes, the step up in class the like of Kendall and Gemmell especially provided was amazing. I loved being a blues fan. Now living in the USA it kills me to see where we are today. We really could have been a huge club given some of todays owners. Its been a great ride but has way too many tears and way too few smiles but as the song goes we will KRO.

We the current beleaguered blues fans need this snippet from the past to keep the faith and remember however dark the tunnel of despair is the light of hope will eventually shine through ,KRO . A statute for Super Trev outside the ground would hopefully inspire fans and players alike , that the good times will return .

I know what you mean. I enjoyed the BCFC Archive site - but with a name like that it is easily searched and found. I'm really enjoying seeing all these clips and sharing them with people. Just a tip; keep adding videos of other things too. Also, make sure you keep all the video files so if it does get banned, it will be easier to upload again. I added some Blues Villa games on my page some years ago and none of them have been removed up to now. But I so add other stuff too.
