Neglected Belgian Draft Horse with eye injury starts his new life after being dumped at a kill pen.

If you are new to our channel, On Friday March 17th, while scrolling through Facebook I came across a horse that was scheduled to ship on the next slaughter truck to Mexico. The reason this horse stood out to me was because he had suffered horrible abuse. His right eye was missing and he was never given medical attention as the kill pen photos showed his eye covered in dried blood. There was no way I was going to let this poor animal suffer further by going to a slaughter house! So, we rescued him!
On Tuesday, March 21st, Cory and I drove 6 hours to Kemp, TX to pick him and we drove him straight to the vets office to get the medical attention he needs. Since he was rescued on St. Patricks Day we decided to name him Lucky.
With all your generosity, support and kindness we raised $8200 so far for for Lucky's rescue, transport and medical care. We could not have rescued this horse and gotten him the medical attention he needs without your support. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
This is an update video on Lucky, his vet appointment, medical care and the start of his new life full of love! Lucky has a long road ahead of him and can use all the prayers and support you can send his way!

Amazing how much the swelling went down overnight with some treatment. He looked so much more comfortable. Humanity has its strengths and weaknesses…the latter, that we use animals until we’re “ done” with them and then off to slaughter they go. Strengths: people like you all willing to help these guys get some time to themselves FOR themselves, not serving OUR purposes, but living and receiving the care for the many years of selfless hard work they’ve given during their life. Lucky Lefty! That's so cute! He is such a sweet boy. He look so nice after his bath. The swelling went down some over night. It's good he is at the vet getting everything he needs with meds,, eye cleaning absess draining. Glad that his appetite is good & drinking lots of water. I bet he is starting to feel better already. I praying all goes well with surgery.
