They must have updated the manual because loading the car seat into the kzbin.infoUgkxIG_q-ZqgbzYXwbeApK3AybegDUy4f2fF double stroller was mentioned in the manual (unlike previous comments/reviews). The undercarriage basket is quite large but it is difficult to access when the back rider is reclined, however my toddler usually doesn't fall asleep in the stroller these days so I haven't had an issue. I was amazed by how smooth the ride was and how easily I was able to maneuver the stroller in small spaces. My toddler loves that she can see her baby sister (see photo) during the ride :) Plus you can't beat the price! I have only loaded it once in my car and it is fairly light but my mother wouldn't be able to lift it in.

If there’s anyone out there who pumps full time who finds the breast pumps you can buy in the shops/online ineffective or a bit slow - I hired a hospital grade breast pump as I couldn’t get a latch (you only hire the machine bit - the pipes and cups are obviously brand new!) and I cannot tell you the difference between it and the ones you buy off the shelf so to speak! It made pumping full time bearable - and I only knew about it as sis in law works in obs and gynae. Life saver

We have used the Owlet sock from day one and have loved it. We haven't had many false alarms, and honestly as our little one has gotten older it has helped with seeing how much sleep they are actually getting now that they are in their room on their own. Absolutely love it and highly recommend.
@emmelineellen2 жыл бұрын
I'd suggest reading up on some studies done on the owlet before you buy it - the results are not comforting. Although there are some instances of false alarms, more worryingly, there have been instances of it not alarming when actually the infant has had low oxygen or heart rates. From a paediatric doctor point of view, they concern me as it allows parents to become complacent with either safe sleep or ignoring their gut instinct because the "numbers look right". We don't tend to send patients home with oxygen or heart monitors and it's not safe to buy one off the internet for peace of mind as you cannot rely on them to be accurate and the owlet certainly has some damning evidence behind it already.
@wanderluster39052 жыл бұрын
Love the owlet and used it for all 3 of my kiddos. We co slept with our oldest and it went off twice when he was smothered in my breast. Never had a false alarm for our twins. Our niece has a heart issue and the owlet was actually what picked it up and raised red flags for them! She is now on meds for it. The hospital actually told her it’s the same technology they use in the hospital.
@aninahpets2 жыл бұрын
My daughter actually needed a heart procedure right after birth and ended up with terrible oxygen stats for the first 9 days of life. I asked the cardiology doctors at our hospital if we should get an Owlet for monitoring once we got home and they said basically it's not sensitive or reliable enough to be useful. So for our little oxygen-sensitive, heart-procedure kiddo they said definitely no Owlet - I thought that was really interesting. But if it gives you peace of mind, I guess why not?
@shazmcuk2 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard lots of people say they’re not recommended! Not sure what a good alternative is though!
@ea14202 жыл бұрын
My son was in the NICU and the doctors and nurses recommended against things like the Owlet and things like it. Because they are expensive, not proven (no peer reviewed studies in good quality journals that provide evidence of effectiveness), and for some parents they don’t follow best sleep practices because they feel their baby is being “monitored”.

Yes I was in the children's hospital in Bristol a few months ago and overhead some consultants dissing the Owlet 🙃

My daughter struggled with her airway after coming home. The nurses actually recommended it to us so that we had an accessible way to keep tabs on her oxygen levels. Later on it came in handy when she caught COVID. We were able to see that her heart rate had kept rising from where it averaged. And eventually rose high enough for a red alarm. When we called the nurses back we were able to tell them heart rate and fever and get her in immediately. They measured heart rate there and it was accurate, same as the breathing was when she was younger. She ended up having to be hospitalized and it alerted us to get her seen. If we wouldn't have had heart rate access we would have waited till morning like recommended by the nurses previously. Can't recommend it enough for the early months. We used it till 8 months and provided so much peace of mind and prevented the constant disturbing her sleep to see if she's still ok

I personally loved the Owlet sock. Never had a single false alarm or issue with it and it gave me such peace of mind as an anxious first-time mom. As a seasoned baby pro, you may not be as anxious about things but if you're the type to check if your baby is breathing 50 times a night I rate it haha

I love our Owlet sock. I didn’t buy it until my daughter was born and I had really bad pp anxiety and it honestly saved my mental health by making me feel like I didn’t have to watch her every breath. We pulled it out when she had RSV too and it caught a few low oxygen readings that we were able to alert the doctor to. I fully respect that it’s not the device for everyone but I am so grateful it exists for my family to use.

sorry i have to comment again, we got the owlet sock this time as we use the owlet camera for our daughter and we’ve loved it, the sock for the first 3 months (baby is currently 3 months) gave me so much peace of mind i slept so much better and weve loved it, the alarm went off once but i was burping the baby and falling asleep so i honestly do not know if it was false or not, another cool feature it has is it tracks their sleep every night (and naps if you use it for naps), it lets you know when they’re in a deep or light sleep, when they’re awake, their longest sleep segment and etc which is kind of nice, i recommend it just from my experience

Hi Fleur! I have a 2 month old so can totally relate to you at the moment. Love the halo bassinest! I had a c section as well. Totally worth the money. Baby sleeps well in it. I was told by many people to get the snoo, glad I didn’t get it as my baby sleeps just fine in the halo bassinest. We just use the camera of the owlet, the sock is fine but we used it only a handful of times. Good luck with the delivery and congratulations mama!

I had my first baby 6.5 years ago and my second last year. The difference in the stuff available is crazy. But what blew my mind even more is how different babies can be from each other, even though you know that objectively they will be different, it was still crazy to me. My first we used baby carriers all the time and my second we only used for maybe a week when I had to make dinner right at bedtime and then again for a couple of weeks to rock him to sleep at night when he was too heavy for my back. I have wearable pumps this time too and they are such a game changer. We also had the bassinest this time too - we had to get risers for our bed because the legs didn’t fit under the bed.

We love our Owlet. We, of course, still practice safe sleep at all times but it really provides us with reassurance and was especially useful when baby caught covid this spring. We’re in the US but since we bought it before the FDA ordered Owlet to make the changes (it isn’t banned) it works as intended for us.

I got a used stokke chair for £10 before I had my daughter 4 years ago. I sanded it down and stained it to match our dining table. We still use it 4 years later, but we have a rectangular table so it fits really well. We live in Norway so a lot of people have it here. When we bought our house 2 years ago the previous owners left an older stokke chair, so I’ll be doing the same with the new baby coming in a month 😊

@californiacurvy44862 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it's the same in the UK, but in the US the Owelet has changed to be more of a "sleep training" aid that doesn't monitor the breathing and heart rate anymore. If the Owlet still has the same monitoring technology in the UK (breathing and heart rate), then I'd say go for it. Otherwise it's probably not worth it. We have the Nanit (never used the heart rate or breathing monitor) and really loved it! It sits on a stand and basically hovers above the crib. We still use it and our son is 2yo now!

What I loooobed with my baby was the elvie curve. Wear it while you are feeding and collect milk. I collected so much milk wearing this for the first few months that I didn’t have to pump at all until I started working. I think it helped up my supply and saved time from having to pump after feeding. Highly recommend
@alisonbradshaw13192 жыл бұрын
We have the Nanit and love it. We use it on the travel stand while baby is in our room and it works well (it doesn’t need to be directly above the cot to monitor breathing). There is also a floor stand option for the nursery if you don’t want it wall mounted eventually. You also don’t need to use the swaddle. There is a band that goes round the baby baby which we use with our own sleeping bag.

We looked at the owlet but I didn’t fancy the sock which I’ve heard mixed reviews about and also it doesn’t last very long. We got a bluebell which is similar in terms of technology but it clips onto baby’s vest/sleepsuit. I find it really useful for monitoring my 3 month old sons temperature at night along with the added security of knowing it’ll alert me with his breathing. You can adjust the sensitivity so it doesn’t go off so easily which is great. You can get a parent wrist watch too but we didn’t because the alerts come up on apple watches too but we did get the video camera.

Cybex car seat is just THE BEST!!! Yes, it’s heavy but I almost never carried it. You just pop it onto a pram frame. So many times I left my baby sleeping in it without worrying about a blood flow or back issues. We recently switched to a bigwig car seat and it breaks my heart when i have to wake her up to get her out of the car. Also, once they sleep for a bit, it’s so hard to get them to fall sleep again. We have cybex priam and once on, seat is a bit angled so we used it exclusively once she found a cot boring, but still wasn’t allowed to sit. She could see out of it during the walk while still being flat. So many baby products are “personal preference”, weather they suit parents or a baby, this one is a no brainer to me. Safe, comfortable and makes new parents life easier

My baby was born 32 weeks and was in NiCU for almost 2 months. I highly recommend the owlet for when the baby isn’t feeling well. It didn’t make me worry more. It actually helped with my anxiety. I used the owlet for one month after nicu. My baby is 9 months now and 7 months adjusted and use after shots now. The owlet is back in US, just hard to find now. They changed their app. In the Owlet group on Facebook, babies that had RSV, covid, viruses. It actually helped with my anxiety. I’ve heard great things about the Nanit. I use the elvies! I have the Elvie stride and I work remote. But my main pump is the stationary spectra 2 and it’s not loud. We used the dock a tot and grand tot now everyday.

Elvie pump is the best ! So practical when you want to move and do stuff during pumping. It is silent for sure. The app is not really usufull in term of quantity of milk pumped in my opinion. Was wrong all the time and showed more quantity pumped than it was. A part from that the product is great ! Pricy but so clever and practical. 👍🏻

We are the type of family that uses both our cars and only have one set of seats for each of our kids. It is a pain but as their seats get lighter, they become much easier. My kiddos are now 7 and 4 and are both in the same type of toddler seat, just different colors and even that is a fight for who sits in which color seat or which parent they are sitting behind. LOL, who knew THAT would be the argument, so fun! :-D

Just an FYI wearable pumps like the Elvie don’t remove milk as effectively, so if baby doesn’t latch and you end up having to pump more you may want to use a traditional pump (I love my spectra not sure if they’re in the UK). If you’re using to get milk after a nursing session only though I think it should work well! We also loved the halo bassinest! The base is a toe hazard in the middle of the night though!

We got an owlet sock when our daughter was 7 months. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and it was the piece of mind I needed to sleep and relax. I wouldn’t be without it now, Best baby but hands down. Mine has never falsely gone off, as long as it’s on a WiFi extender to ensure good connection it’s brilliant. I used to check it all the time at first but now I just check it once before I go to sleep and the fact the docking station stays green when in use it’s piece of mind without even realising your checking it. I recommend it to everyone and will use it with future babies!

Could sing the praises of the cybex car seat, I don’t think it could be beaten. I saw they’re bringing out a new design soon so I’m hoping they’ll correct these things but the only two issues I found it were with the cloud z you have to press in two buttons together that are sort of hidden away in at the sides to get it to release from the pram to lift it out. Unless you have a third arm (I don’t), you’re then left having to carry the car seat to the car like that. It was fine when he was tiny but they car seat plus a heavy baby as they get bigger makes it really awkward to do. That’s literally my only criticism of the ‘baby’ seat though, I am just amazed someone tried it out in a bird room somewhere and thought it was a good idea! Since buying the second stage one (sirona z), I’ve realised when the in the car you can’t get your fingers in to the little bit to swivel the seat because the seat sits so tightly on top. I’ve noticed in the new design it’s just a lever so will be much easier but again, not ideal for me as I humph my 1 year old in sideways when it’s supposed to swivel 🤦🏼♀️

Owlet sock we only used when our baby had shots or was sick. Other than that it was a pain because you have to remove it when feeding and it’s a pain at night. Not a fam of the camera because there is no monitor. You HAVE to use your phone or a tablet. We use it occasionally but we ultimately bought a more traditional monitor. Owlet app is also a nightmare to use. Lots of connection issues. Glad it was a gift but also not, it was a lot of money for something we rarely used.

Love the artipoppe 10/10, so comfortable. Cybex cloud Z too heavy after section. Liked newborn insert for stokke Tripp trapp and never used it after that.

We got Tripp Trapp because of your video and we also got the baby set. I am not sure if it was out when Riv was born but I really like it. You can include the baby in family meals from day 1.

Yes we had the baby seat too but didn’t use it much at all with Riv so have lent it to a friend for the moment - she loves it!

With regards to a sleep monitor, we used the ‘Snuza hero’ with both of our kids and found it fantastic. It’s also approved by the lullaby trust 👍🏻
