0:29 - This story has two narrators: a fairy godmother reading from a storybook, and a teenage girl reading from her diary. There's a fantasy and reality aspect, who she is and who she imagines herself to be. I wanted to keep the black hightop converse on the godmother, to make that connection. 0:31 - We actually left this pink wig at home, we all thought someone else had brought it. By the time we got it, we had like 15 minutes left to use the room. We had to touch up my hairline after it was filmed! 0:36 - This room was built in my director's house, and I sourced everything to create my dream 2000's teenage bedroom-including the Avril Lavigne poster! These shots were also my favorite to shoot-we were finishing them up around midnight when everyone else went home, it was so fun! 0:46 - I'm laying on Harrison Ford's Hollywood Star here, it was the only place people weren't walking around-it wasn't intentional at all! 1:02 - Our main character is imagining herself as different iterations of Hollywood tropes, I love the 90's - 2000's eras for fashion! Comment your favorite look below! 1:13 - My director went into a random store in Rodeo Drive to buy one dress, then asked if we could use like 20 bags. 1:44 - This all-denim outfit is an ode to the early 2000's, think Paris Hilton, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears. 2:00 - We wouldn't have had any of these shots of me dancing in the water if I hadn't fallen in! A wave tipped me over on the pink couch, and I just decided since I was already wet, we could get some more footage running through the water. 2:41 - The director's cat jumped up on the bed in the middle of a scene, and she was like, "keep singing, sing to the cat!" 3:06 - The pink wig with space buns was my favorite look of the entire shoot, even though it's probably the one we use the least! I felt like it truly encapsulated the girl in the song. 3:34 - This video was completely created by 8 amazingly talented women. Directed and shot by Elle Ginter, one of my best friends.
