Flex Miter Saw - My Thoughts After Extensive Job Site Use?

Just wanted to give a follow up on the Saw after having ran it for a good while on my job sites. Could this be the best miter saw I have ever used? Its possible...

I use it for furniture believe it or not. Fantastic saw. Major upgrade and less time using a sled on the Table saw. It's a beast. No complaints either. I WISH it had a zero clearance insert. I will make one but customer support states they are coming. Also, ACME tool has them as well.

I've been looking at this miter vs the m18 fuel milwaukee and the dewalt dcs781 for a few months. this thing and the flex 16 ga finish nailer are nice! I wish there was a time machine we could peek forward into the future and see which saw lasts the longest on average. Obviously it depends on usage, temps, drops etc. but with the economy being rough I'm more concerned at this point with the tool lasting longer than making a 2 second faster cut.

@@TOOL_TECHNICAL Man I don't blame you a bit. I can tell you this - I had been running the newest Bosch Cordless 12" miter saw for almost two years before switching to the Flex. The Bosch was absolutely fantastic. There is not a single feature I don't like better about the Flex though. We ran the Flex all day today on an 8.0 battery cutting pressure treated lumber on this deck project.

@@miillersconstruction I was looking at the bosch just now. That modular arm in the back instead of the rail hanging out the back is nice not needing too much space behind the saw. Trim/carpentry is always a great skill to learn more of. My channel is about tools and fixing but it's leaning in the "help people who can't afford to do it" direction. It's not profitable but I do appreciate the experience and hands on practice. Also that's not bad on an 8 ah. The m18 fuel 12" can only do 330 cuts on a 12 ah !

Awesome Saw..... I just bought the New FLEX 18ga Brad Nailer for $279.00 and it came with a Free 2.5ah battery and 160w Fast Charger , I used it for 3 days last week and it was great , not a single jam or MisFired and Flex gave me their Lifetime Warranty on all the tools , you can't beat that .... 👍🖖

If you disable the safety you might void your warranty or Flex might not fix it if you did a warranty claim. I did that on my Milwaukee 12” cordless saw and that’s what they told me but they did fix it. Something to think about. I got used to the Milwaukee safety.

Why are you only cutting one at a time looking like a beginner if you are a finishing Carpenter you know the 10in cut straighter the 12in wobble a little but learn yourself

Cutting 2x4’s with a 12” saw I don’t think it matters much. Using it on finishing material, trim etc I always use the slide function. Much better cuts than plunging imo.
