why doesn't this video has a million likes yet?! Informative, clear and short, perfect. Thanks for that

I agree flex pitch would be a great thing for them to perfect. I absolutely prefer using it practically to other plug-ins, but it doesn’t sound as good. The fact that it’s integrated with the door has always been why I continue to try to use it because the workflow is amazing.

they 100% need to make it better. I prefer the functionality and userfriendliness of flex pitch to melodyne, but flex pitch is just so unreliable! Sometimes I edit things and it sounds great, then I come back to it 10 minutes later and I can swear I haven't touched anything in the same track and it's loaded with artefacts. Makes it impossible to feel confident in using it for anything that is remotely professional.

I really wish Apple would improve flex pitch. It starts to sound bad really quick compared to melodyne

And flex time too. They refuse to use zplane algorithm so they should update their own.

Nice video. I would politely add that you can actually automate pitch response time for specific notes on the tuner plugin. It doesn't always work depending on the project, but might be worth a try.

i'm still not 100% comfortable here, but I'm much farther ahead and getting there..maybe more on this will be helpful. I think your honest commentary on the limitations here and the emphasis on performance makes total sense.

Hi Colin, can you do a Video on Melodyne...would love to follow up on this info and gt it right...thx

the Logic Pitch Correction plug-in, if adjusted properly, and the performance isn’t radically out of tune, can be virtually imperceptible. It can also be adjusted to the Cher “Believe” setting.

What do you think about stacking both?
@TheBandGuide Жыл бұрын
Definitely do in some cases! I'll just fix particular notes with Flex Pitch and then use the plugin to tighten up more
@johnlegrande10425 ай бұрын
I use a combination of both.... Flex on big outs, then auto to even it out.

Hi there! Thanks for a good video. When i use the flex pitch, the volume seems to be stuck on -12 db. When I try to change it, it just pops right back! Is this a flex pitch thing or has it something to do with the audio recording, which I did in -12 dB (because that is what has been recomended to me), thnx again, Kristin

You are so good at this and these are brilliant videos that pique my interest immensely. I’m into this stuff from a less than perfect objective as I’m trying to have some reasonable backing tracks for accompaniment. I’m using GarageBand and still learning and in your opinion, would it be worth it to make the shift to logic? Thanks dude and love your videos!

Nice vid! Quick question, I was wondering if there’s a way to pitch bend more than two half steps in GarageBand on mac. I know on iOS you can pitch bend with unlimited range but it seems that on mac you can only do two half steps. On mac Is it possible to pitch bend more than an octave or not? Thanks!

Great video - very clear. Thanks! Q: Can you run pitch correction on a vocals bus (to save CPU power) or is it better to use it on individual tracks?
@taemjones Жыл бұрын
Is this strictly on the desktop version of logic? I only have Logic on an iPad
@TheBandGuide Жыл бұрын
I don't have the iPad version but my understanding is that it should also have both!
@jamesnyers1721 Жыл бұрын
No. Flex pitch is non existent on the iPad version (yet)
@jamesnyers1721 Жыл бұрын
I always use pitch correction as following: on the vocal track separate the bad notes from the performance.. Duplicate the track and drag the bad note(s) to the duplicated track and apply pitch correction on that track only. Less artifacts and you ONLY apply the pitch correction to the few bad notes.

I have a very gritty voice (male) and Flex Pitch has a nightmare with my voice. So many artifacts in the final product! Shame - because it's easy to use.
