I’ve been using flex for a while now and they are great tools. People who get hung up on the China thing forget Milwaukee is made in Vietnam with Chinese parts and dewalt is assembled with “global” (Chinese) materials in the USA. 😂😂
@WontSeeReplies Жыл бұрын
Point taken. But don’t underplay American assembly. If that’s all we get, it’s still a huge win. Not only economically. We once made the best tools in the world. I have no bias when it comes to quality. I’m here because I haven’t found anything to hold up like DeWalt tools. In ways I liked our cordless Milwaukee better, but every one broke. Meanwhile 20+ year old DeWalts are still going…weak. But going. I’ll begin my Flex experience, but don’t be surprised when they are the next Milwaukee. I’ll bet in 5 years everyone is going after Makita. For my frugal a$$, hope I’m wrong. Do me proud, Flex. I’m yet to see anything but DeWalt take 20’ falls without issue. But I haven’t owned Flex.

Milwaukee is owned by a Chinese corporation. And now FLEX, a storied German company that brought us the angle grinder, is owned by a Chinese corporation. It is what it is. I'll take FLEX and Milwaukee everyday over DeWalt. (Though I love my Dewalt miter and table saw).
@rodneygoerger71639 ай бұрын
What people are saying is that companies like Flex or Milwaukee are owned by Chinese companies. The CCP party controls and benefits from the sales of these tool. China and the Communist Party are some of the most evil and corrupt entities on the planet. We should do whatever we can not to contribute to the CCP . Brand loyalty is one thing, but country loyalty comes first tried to by American or of a country that is not Communist.

"they're hard to accessories with" "They don't make me look cool enough"
@nikitavanhoose4057 ай бұрын
Well this would make sense, as black and gray are universal for blending in. Many militaries across the world wear black and grey camo on their BDU's, and they do this for a reason. Just look at our Air force and Naval ships, jets, and helicopters. Their almost always painted black and grey. I think Flex could add just a little of their bright green trim to their tools and batteries and easily eliviate this problem.

I own a porter cable drill and impact driver easily over 15 years old still going are almost the same color as flex and I go crazy trying to find them when I place them down now I use dewalt you can't misplace them
@gagejernigan52773 ай бұрын
I agree cause they’re dark colored and every other brand is bright and really in your face. It’s a marketing ploy that reminds us of toys as kids. But I think it’s a good thing they’re dark, less likely to be stolen if you can’t see them from a distance, and I always remember where I put my tools so to me that’s a pro not a con
@LBibeauB242 ай бұрын
That's a valid point. If I'm doing work in a circular apartment complex, and I set my tool down and forget which unit, the orange, green, red, and yellow stand out and I can find it again. The grey/black of the Flex is harder to spot. Not a huge consideration, but a consideration nonetheless.

I work in the office of a big Factory and we purchased 8 Flex 1/2 drills and 6 hammer drills for a total plant reset and design. Oh forgot we also purchased 20 extra batteries with chargers. I can't remember what size batteries were bought 5 hr I believe. These drills ran non stop for 3 8hr shifts 7 days a week for a month at least. When one shift would return them to the crib they were immediately issued out to the next shift still warm. Some of the batteries that came with the drills has problems but we were sent replacements pretty quickly but we never had a problem with any of the drills. For this month would be a lifetime of use for the average DIYer and some construction workers. All of the maintenance guys said they were sold on Flex and have bought them for themselves. Just thought this may help somebody that didn't know anything about the brand. We. Later purchased 8 angle grinders and 8 1/4 impacts and I personally bought the 1/4 inch impact to build my deck and it's a beast. Any of the other tools I can't say because I've never seen or used them . Good luck on whatever brand you buy.

Bought this Flex pack out a few months ago. Used on three projects. The latches between the top box and the middle box kept hanging up or not locking. Soooo, tried to call company service to get a fix. Wasn't asking for anything but a tech to walk me through the fix(maybe a replacement latch?). First, good luck getting through, they DON"T answer their phones. After a half hour hold the message comes on offering a call back. No choice gotta grow old on the phone or give up. No call back, so the next day I try again, same deal, but this time I get a call back. Pleasant young lady hears the problem and takes all my info and says they are sending a new replacement unit!! Of course nothing took place, NO Replacement Unit, No Latches, NO NOTHING!!!! The product seems to be well made except for these few minor issues, however I would never recommend buying a Flex product. They have no customer loyalty.
@alannguyen50503 ай бұрын
Exactly. This is why I chose Milwaukee, they make reliable tools, sometimes not the best, but always reliable, and they come with a 5 year warranty as standard. Milwaukee has the best customer service out of any brand combined. They will replace any tool with no question.

I've been using Milwaukee for many years now. I have a massive collection of them and use them hard like you do. I have to say, last few years they have gone down hill. I have a brushed drill of Thurs that was their very first drill they offered with lithium ion batteries. It still Fing runs, weighs 90lbs but still runs. The latest two gens of fuel drills have not lasted. Both have been in the shop multiple times, and tge one is now out of warranty and is now a glorified paper weight. The fuel 7 1/4" saw is not holding up very well either. The fuel hackzall is dieing. They keep making the impact wrenches smaller and they keep getting less robust. I'm done with them. Would love to switch to hilti, but the price for entry is very high and they don't offer many of the tools I'd use. Maybe flex is the go here.

I'm the tool DS at a Lowe's. Several months back, we had a recall on our Flex tools because of the battery failure issues they were having- had to send most of our stock back. We're restocked now so hopefully they got that issue worked out. I don't have any real feedback to offer as we very rarely have anyone purchase this brand in my area so I don't get any feedback from customers. I think the battery issue scared a lot of people away from trying them ? Anyway, good to hear they are a tool I can recommend to people. I'd like to get more of them out in the field to see how they hold up.

If your blade is slipping and the design is such that you can't get it to tighten after prolonged use, but was tight previously? Dirty blade. The blade picks up resin, or gunk or what ever you want to call it. That gunk grabs at the board as the saw spins and slows it down. It can cause the wood to burn as well. Many times when people think their blade is dull, it's actually just dirty on the sides.

I like you invested in pretty much everything Flex. I haven’t had the circular saw issue that you had but I did have some issues of my own. One is I got the batteries that that ended up pulling for the shelves. One leaked a black liquid and stopped working. The second issue I had was I didn’t register my tools so the life-time warranty didn’t apply. That one was my own fault. Overall I love Flex Tools. I am concerned though. I wanted to get shoe new table saw and chop saw because they look light years ahead of anything else. For some reason Lowe’s doesn’t have them. Yesterday I went to buy their new mid torque wrench and there were none on the shelves. I went to their website and it said no longer available at Lowes. Something is up. I’m hesitant to invest more without knowing if they are staying or going. Lowe’s or Flex have been silent.
@sueb41545 ай бұрын
I think the reason that you are finding bare shelves at Lowes is that Flex seems to be in the process of releasing an entirely new line-up of tools. I've even found a few drill driver kits, super inexpensive at Acme Tools
@Jasonitodd4 ай бұрын
I’ve got the 1/2” high torque impact, 0 complaints. Great tool. Also have the impact drill and impact driver. Really like them both. One complaint with the different drill type platforms: they overheat super easy. Extremely powerful tools, but damn do they overheat a lot. In between 15minute uses, i usually have to stop and give the tool a few minutes to cool down to continue. That feels like a lot of wasted time.

@Detroit6V92TA18 күн бұрын
As far as hammer drills go, Flex beats everything, including Milwaukee. From a quality standpoint, I still prefer Milwaukee. The Flex tools aren't sealed as well as the Milwaukee tools, so they are more susceptible to dirt and water. The do rust a lot faster than Milwaukee, although Milwaukee tools will still rust eventually. If you're leaving your tools out in the rain on a regular basis, I'd still go with Milwaukee. It will be interesting to see how all these tools hold up. Keep us updated.

Hi I just bought the flex vacuum it was $129 and you got a free 350 amp stack battery which is worth 179 alone. I don't understand flex every time I go to Lowe's every week they have tools on clearance and they're 60% off I feel that Lowe's might be dropping their line it doesn't make me feel good in the heart knowing that these nice tools are being sold so cheap but on the other hand I buy a lot of them when I see them on sale. Let me tell you about this tremendous vacuum I'll leave it in the back of my Mercedes van so I can always keep it clean when I throw my crap in the back and have trash days where I have to take bags of trash off the job site if you use a 2.5 volt battery it will work fine but I will tell you if you put a 10 amp battery and that thing it will work like it's supercharged or turbocharged The thing just sings away really loud and the suction is much more incredibly stronger so there you go the bigger the battery the faster that thing will work now I'm talking about going from a 2.5 amp regular battery to a 10 amp stack battery I don't necessarily know if you need to put a 10 amp stack battery cuz it makes a little bit heavy but I'm sure if you put a 6 amp stack or an 8 amp battery it will work good too anyway it's a super good tool but the way they're selling these tools where you buy the vacuum for $129 and they give you $179 battery for free all these prices are just insane it doesn't leave me comfortable that the company is going to be in business or possibly Lowe's is dropping their line I'm looking forward to hopefully on clearance the tripod light that's 249 coming down in price My store where I live has eight of them they've been there for 3 months they haven't sold a one I can see them up in the top and I asked the guys that do the flex there and they all own flex now cuz they get them on clearance too they said the lights haven't moved at all they're too expensive but it's a great light so I'm waiting for the light to go on clearance and the radio. I bought the rear handle saw that was 399 for $209 on Amazon. Now two weeks ago Lowe's had it on clearance for $159 that was the kit with the charger and a 10 amp battery I kept the bat two batteries I bought two saws I kept the two batteries and I sold the saws with the charger for $159 what I paid for them and they gave you a $300 battery. See this is ridiculous this is not what I understand how does the company make money doing this. Why is Lowe's dumping all these things

I have a bunch of Stack Pack boxes and the one thing I would prefer is for the latching mechanism to be on the front like the Packout or Stack Tech. Now the Stack Tech is very appealing, but since Toughbuilt does not make power tools, there will be no integration for battery operated tools into their storage system. I've bought a bunch of Flex tools as well that have yet to be used, so I am already in the system. What makes me excited is that when looking at their website, they have a bunch of new tools coming out AND, as the only company other than Metabo to have one, they have an AC adapter which is huge plus for me.

Battery leakage, is that still a problem with their new stack line? Bottom line is, that shouldn't of been a problem in the first place! I was afraid of shaking the packaging when I received a new battery from Flex, only to have experienced the same leakage issue! WTF?! For any tool manufacturer having batteries leak on you, shows the lack of QC on their part or just poor engineering! For that I'm sticking with Milwaukee, their attention to detail and engineering are so far the best in class... No wonder Flex offers lifetime limited warranties on their tools, just like Ridgid! As a service plumber, I mostly use m12 but when I need power, I go to my flex
@microwave2213 ай бұрын
I used the M12 when l was upfitting emergency vehicles or working as shop electric in film, and they were sufficient for 95% of what l needed without taking up more space then necessary, but now I'm in the market for a battery angle grinder or bandsaw. Nice to hear they work in the field, but l think the key factor in my decision is if their acdc adapter will work with their grinder without destroying it.

I’m a stair builder and use my tools daily. Milwaukee is great when it comes to the 12v the 18v is all good for a year then crap. The pack outs are solid as a rock no issues there.

Very funny getting a Skil Ad on a vid about Flex. 😅

The cutting depth is more than any other saw on the market especially on the Flex 6 1/2 Inch In Line Circular saw because the arbor sits so close to the foot plate. Also the gap in the Arbor is something I've encountered too, just make sure you center your blade best you can before you tighten it down to minimise wiggle wobble.

I like all brands of power tools but I am heavily invested in DeWalt and Ridgid with no complaints of either if I ever take on another brand down the road it will certainly be the FLEX line.

Yo! How are the new stack batteries… haven’t tried any out. Great review
@JonDawson Жыл бұрын
Bro they are impressive. The power is amazing but honestly how long they last and how fast they charge is mind blowing in my opinion.
@Arizona.Ranger Жыл бұрын
I'm sold on them, I have two 3.5 aH and a 6.0 aH and can use them over a single work week and have yet to go below two bars on them. I mainly use them on the small hammer drill with turbo mode and the multi mode impact driver. I recently bought the one handed recip saw and used that all week making multiple cuts on conduit, and uni-strut and hell I think the 3.5 battery is still showing four bars.
@JonDawson Жыл бұрын
@@Arizona.Ranger it really is crazy how long the batteries last. Sometimes I don’t charge them for 2 weeks if I’m using them on smaller tools. Can just leave it all up together for the work week

I love the brand. Only issue I’ve encountered is my batteries started leaking… and they only let me replace 2 out of the 5 i had. Other than they work great on the jobsite and in heat. Im a welder and the grinder is money!

@@JonDawson Nice to know about the batteries. I'm going to have to buy some new battery tools this summer so I'll give Flex a consideration. Thank for the videos. I plan on building our cabin similar to yours in the monopoly way.

I rebuilt the entire 48 feet long by 8.5 feet wide flatbed trailer with Flex Tools. I had a drill fly out of my hand and on to the concrete floor. All that happened was a nick on the head of the drill. They are well built tools!

They are just gettin started. I’d never drop a platform for flex due to the holes in the line up, but I’d definitely invest in a slow take over as they grow. I really believe these tools will outlast most brands when it comes to battery and tool durability

I use flex tools as well been using for years now on framing , I even sold my deWalt flexvolt circular saw just to my first flex circular saw lol but it was worth it , I feel like the flex was stronger with a regular 24v battery instead of a heavy 60v
