Setting up my new to me flex 5000a, Seem to be able to achieve decent audio from bal input from pr781.problem I'm having is to achieve desired drive level it gets distorted. tried numerous changes but unable to achieve good audio with sufficient drive power. Any suggestions what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I’ve heard this complaint a lot with the 781. I’m not sure if that mic needs a cloud lifter or what. I would look into the akg precision line. Great mic for the money. Very well balanced.

I had bad like with the pr40. Went to a Behringe B-1. Trust me when I said best mic move I ever made
