@@R0-83-RT why would you think tape is as sturdy as the metal? They advertise it as an emergency solution, and the boat is simply the display of its effectiveness. Anyway, that's a bad idea to step on any kind of tapelike material under pressure with your boots - they can penetrate it quite easily. Water creates severe force evenly distributed over the whole taped surface, while the boot creates a smaller force with a really small area of touch, so the pressure can be even bigger. And, anyway, applying pressure to both sides of the tape on the same moment is a bad idea - that is an easiest way to penetrate it.

When I was in business school all I wanted to do was cut holes in boats to sell my product. They called me insane. Then I found Phil Swift. HE showed me the way of destruction. HE took me by the hand to his garage. There was an altar with a bucket, he gave me a knife and said "Go make some serious damage" I knew what needed to be done. I thrust the blade thrice into the bucket, knowing I could never go back to the life I once had. Phil spoke softly "that's a lot of damge..." His voice shaking before shouting to the gods above "HOW ABOUT SOME MORE?" He raised his rumbling chainsaw aloft, penetrating deep into the weakened bucket. I watched in terrified amazement as he defiled the bucket. I asked "surely this must be enough damage?" Phil only smiled at me, no not at me but at something behind me. Could it be? I turned to see it towering behind me like a mighty obelisk. An aluminum boat. This was our moment. To bond in a holy unity stronger than brotherhood, greater than blood. We carved into the vessel. Whirring blades sending sparks to the heavens above. God looking upon us, happy, seeing us mortals fulfil our purpose. The metal husk clanked to the stone ground. Embers still in the air as the enlightened spoke his wisdom into the world "I sawed a giant hole, IN ANOTHER BOAT!" His words filled me with relief, tinged with anxiety, for there was no possibly way to repair this much damage. Phil looked into my eyes, knowing my fears. His words still haunt me, for at that moment he said "I shall fix it using only FLEX-TAPE!" I thought he was mad, nothing could have prepared me for the FLEX-TAPE Clear. Phil applied the tape with gentle hands, healing the boat. His sensual rubs along the hull of the boat not only repairing the ship, but it felt like he was rubbing FLEX-TAPE onto my soul. I was complete. Ready for the final step. We brought the boat to the shoreline. Phil entered the boat for his final journey. He sailing off to hell on his mighty quest to repair Satan's spirit. Alas, I could not take the step into the boat, for my work was unfinished. He raced the boat through the danger filled waters and into the beyond. Leaving me to repair the physical world, one hole at a time. Thank you, Phil.
