if it's a city-owned trash can, they will replace it for free (it's usually included in your water bill). Just call the trash people, leave the broken out and they will take it on trash day, leaving the new one.

Yes it has lasted. the heat actually helped it cure better and more solid. Even with the neighborhood kids and careless people slamming trash lid it has stood up to its name and i am happy with results. Thank You!
