Both are really powerful tools. The Flex seems to be faster in most test. Mine is so far so good. The only thing is that when I run it on turbo that your not suppose to do all the time it gets really hot. The heat is concentrated in the handle right above the battery. That's only on turbo other than that you could run that drill in regular speed all day.

In my opinion. Milwaukee is more powerful. Flex is faster. Guess it depends on ur needs. I personally go with power, because I drill a lot with holesaw bits, and I already think my Milwaukee is too fast sometimes. I'm sure others might like more speed tho.

Throughout all these vs tests I watch, despite one brand maybe having a generally small time advantage , I need to know the tool I'm using is going to consistently work and get my job done over a long period of time. Until Flex can offer me a large variety of the solid price and product deals I can get with proven brands. Dewalt , Milwaukee, Makita I am not going to shell out more money per product unless I am getting value back. The deals that are available for these other brands are amazing , and the options are endless. I appreciate Flex can win a time test here and there, not always but where is the incentive to buy these Flex right now. I can certainly wait till the prices come way down and the battery choices and options are much better. I still love watching these vids, but just like Festool or Hilti may be better for some applications here and there, more bang for the buck keeps them out of the majority of tool bags. Flex just doesn't spark any interest in me to but the product.

Hi! I live in Vietnam. I am looking to buy a battery screwdriver and I am deciding between the 3 brands that I think are the best: Makita, Milwaukee and Dewalt. I know that your channel has accurate, objective and reputable assessments of the quality of machinery brands. Please give me your opinion on my question: I want to choose a battery-powered screwdriver that lasts over time, a machine with the longest average life, 1 of 3 brands Makita, Milwaukee and Dewalt. A machine that can be used for a long time over time includes factors: getting wet due to going out in the rain, being hit hard by falling, the possibility of damage to the control circuit board with long-term use and other damages. other miscellaneous miscellaneous. Please let me know which of the 3 brands I should choose for long-term use according to the factors I mentioned above.

The Milwaukee is a good match for the Flex since they can both be considered somewhat compact vs the more powerful full size drills that DeWalt and Hilti produce. On one hand you could say Milwaukee was actually kind of favored here since it had a 21700 cell battery pack and the Flex did not, but on the other hand Flex's batteries are absolutely massive so that this is a more reasonable comparison for their size. Great test though, and I wonder how Flex will hold up over the years. That is what will make or break them as a brand.

Finally. For a tool company that came out so headstrong there seems to be a real lack of these tool channels doing real reviews of the tool vs the rest in the industry. There’s hundreds of reviews of Milwaukee Ryobi Dewalt. Trying to find one for flex versus the other brands like a needle in a haystack. Makes you wonder why these channels have been so silent all these weeks. The other channels talk about flex but they’re not competing other brands against flex.

Power and speed are 2 different things entirely. If both drills can complete the task without much resistance speed wins. The more resistance the more power plays a part until ultimately one drill completes the task and the other doesn’t. Milwaukee is a 3yr old drill and still has as much power as the drills being put out today. I can only imagine what their next offering will be come later this year or next. Only thing I don’t like about the Milwaukee is the setting selector. It’s made of plastic and I’d prefer something sturdier. Other than that it’s a great drill. I also really like the flex tools. Future is bright with both brands no downside.

So the Milwaukee (18V) beats, or nearly beats the Flex (24V), in every category. It’s like comparing the M12 vs the M18. The Milwaukee is a far better drill in my opinion. The Flex needs years to prove itself, and need another hundred + tools to even be considered. I understand it’s a “new” brand, but the competition it’s going up against is pretty strong.
@jdelapaz14
@jdelapaz14 3 жыл бұрын
Your nuts. The flex beat it in every category except when he handicapped it by turning off the turbo button for the lags. It's factually a stronger tool. Its 1200punds torque vs 1400pounds torque. He's even using a high output battery on the milwaukee and it still lost every test. I'm a milwaukee guy and now own the flex also. I use both drills almost everyday with my guys at work and the flex hammerfrill outperforms the Milwaukee. Not as much of a difference as the impact driver which is faster and stronger by far but it is still considerably stronger with the hammerdrill. Milwaukee will no doubt come out with a stronger tool and then one of the other companies will try again. It's so weird people won't admit the right now the flex is the stronger tool.

Competitively against another brand? Why is that? That’s the worst way to test a tool, because it won’t be apples to apples. Take the Milwaukee Fuel G3 Hammer Drill for instance. @@martylucas8557 so, in your hypothetical scenario, Ryobi would have sent an incomplete tool to Dave to test and review? See how ridiculous that sounds? @@ToolswithSoAlz, you didn’t have to explain anything to me, I thought the over dramatization of using no battery since the tool came with no battery explained how I felt about testing tools as kitted. It’s a silly way to test a tool. Think about it for a minute, let’s say Milwaukee has an over abundance of older 18650, 2 amp batteries they want to get rid of. So they package the 2 amp battery, with a charger, as a special promotion with a Gen 3 FUEL Hammer Drill. Because the deal was good and the battery or batteries were free the tester decided to purchase that kitted tool. Would you then feel it a good test to put it up against the Flex 24 Volt Hammer Drill which came kitted with 5 amp batteries or another drill that came kitted with 21700 and 2 or 3 times the amperage? If you truly felt that fair, then you probably wouldn’t have very good viewership. That or you’re going to have a lot of ticked off viewers. Therefor...as kitted is not a good or equitable way to have a heads up test. What do you feel is gained by testing in this manner? Vince @ VCG was testing as kitted for a while and received a lot of backlash. He received it for a good reason. Because he wasn’t marrying the tool or tools with the best offering from the manufacturer. It left a lot of people believing that the horse they had in the race would’ve won, had it been equipped with a similar battery as the competition.

@@ToolswithSoAlz, you don’t get it because you have rocks in your head. Your original comment was...”I like testing tools the way they came”. What if one came with no battery, another with a 2 amp battery, another with an 8 amp HO battery and the competitive tool came with a 5 amp battery? If you tested those tools as “they came”, it would be the stupidest test ever! Tool test channels that know what they’re doing will equip each tool as closely as the other one being tested, in order to allow an apples to apples test. Otherwise....what’s the use? Do I really need to spell this out for you? You’re starting to annoy me!!

It would only be fair or apples to apples if all tools used similar amperage batteries. Whether they’re 21700 cells or not is up to the manufacturer, if they aren’t available the other manufacturers tool shouldn’t be penalized.
@TheVdog12
@TheVdog12 3 жыл бұрын
@@martylucas8557 21700 cells don't make the difference you think they do. A high draw 18650 will outperform a standard draw 21700. The flex is probably already using higher output 18650 cells. The problem comes when you're changing the size of the pack because of the available current. I really wouldn't care if the flex has its 2.5 and the Milwaukee had a 3 h.o. I think that would actually be a fair comparison because of the size and most people would run their tools that way. The truth is the flex used the battery it came with and the Milwaukee got a $150 upgrade. Which I'm not crying foul because it wouldn't matter either way the flex won I just don't see why not run the tools with the same size pack. Why not just throw the 12.0 on all of them. I don't really care who makes what pack which direction with what sticker on it. I just know there's an apples to apples comparison to be had and for whatever reason mct is very scared of running all of these tools on am even playing field. Whether it's speed selection of battery size there's always something to try and protect the tools he's been calling the best for so long. I wonder why vcg isn't doing the same stuff 🤔
@martylucas8557
@martylucas8557 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheVdog12, first of all the Flex didn’t win. It won a couple of tests, but the Milwaukee won the majority. Milwaukee has optimized their 21700 cell batteries to work more efficiently in their FUEL designated tools, with communication between the battery, electronics and the tool. I’ve seen the Flex hammer drill perform poorly during some tests and better another day during a different test. What I know I can count on is the Milwaukee Fuel Gen 3 performing consistently well. All that really matters is each tool being tested be equipped with the best battery the manufacturer has to offer, then with the same number of amps. It may never be truly apples to apples, but that’s as fair and close as you can probably get.
@TheVdog12
@TheVdog12 3 жыл бұрын
@@martylucas8557 first and foremost you sound like a Milwaukee pr bot. Second of all I don't know what video your watching but the flex won every single test with the exception of three of the four lag bolt tests. So yes the flex won quite comfortably with it's 18650 cell battery pack while the milwaukee used a 21700 pack. You're clearly out of your wheel house and have been sold hard on Milwaukee pr so I'll give you some really easy pointers. Milwaukee's "redlink intelligence" is quite literally a worthless marketing point. Every tool manufacturer puts a chip in their tools that communicates with the hard ware in a battery pack through software to regulate certain things like draw and temperature. Every cordless tool ever has had to do it and Milwaukees technology isn't any different than Bauer in that regard. Milwaukee does however use very good motors and program their tools to output more power which has been shown to decrease the life of their tools but people seem happy with the trade off of losing a little bit of life for the power which is fine. Also your comment on "you've seen the flex perform poorly" this is a ridiculous statement on its face. What you watched was mct lean on the drill as hard as he could when he first got it because he wanted to trash flex which is also fine. Pretty much every reviewer on the platform is showing that the flex is the superior tool and now here we're getting a fair comparison and the flex won.

The Milwaukee G3 Hammer Drill is about three years old. With regards to power...you can never have enough power, at least I can’t. Why would you want a tool to be less than what it could be? Why not just have a brushed tool vs a brushless? There’s always that one job where you need the extra umphhh, without the tool cutting out. If the Milwaukee G3 didn’t have the power it does I wouldn’t be able to mix a bucket of thin set with it.

Yes, drilling of hard concrete the Milwaukee will loose by a few seconds but if you are drilling into that type of hardened masonry you would not use any of these smaller hammer drills for many holes, you will most likely use a SDS or rotary hammer drill. Also you can see the Flex is struggling against the Milwaukee in the Lag tests and there is more vibration and more safety concerns using the Flex as it tried to twist your arm off. In my Opinion Milwaukee made/makes an excellent drill with the right size and ergonomics.
