I can see this resin being excellent for printing negatives/moulds in which one would cast other things.
@AndrewSink
@AndrewSink 3 жыл бұрын
I actually thought about doing that in this video, but I ran out of resin. Making a direct print mold pattern would be a cool project, for sure!
@DisgruntledPigumon

I wonder how that would work. The problem I see is that the two printed halves would not match up up well.
@zid_just_zid

@@DisgruntledPigumon You can make the two parts have alignment keys printed into them, just like is added when making multipart silicone molds.
@dredgewalker
@dredgewalker 3 жыл бұрын
It's more expensive to use this method than the old style of silicon moulding. With traditional methods you only need to print the master copy which takes less time to print and uses lesser resin. Plus you can make bigger moulds with the silicon method
@littlesnowflakepunk855
@littlesnowflakepunk855 3 жыл бұрын
I find it's cheaper to resin print a master, FDM print a "mother mold" that closely hugs the master (around half a centimeter gap between them) into which you pour some RTV silicone.

Almost got hooked into considering this until I saw the fails on the cube and warrior prints. To those who print with resin, you know how frustrating it is to wait long hours or days only to see a part or two on the print object fail especially if it's part of the major structure of what you are printing. Will explore further until I see a better quality resin.

G'day m8......ive only been in the MSLA corner of the internet and practically using my machine for almost 2 months ( a Nova3D, Whale 2 ), i do have 3yrs under my belt printing FDM. You ask what applications that it might be used for🤔. Well i got into 3d printing for parts, bodys and scale items, we use in the Scale Rc Crawling (drive small 4x4s on scale terrain), i can mix like 10% of F39 with a more ABS like resin to give my bodys bounce when rolling down a hill. If its all ABS-like, it would crack an sheer after the first roll. so for me this changes the game, unlike FDM where you have to find the right filament, then make sure there is plenty of stock etc. With resin we can mix an test a lot easier, with 1x 500g bottle of F39 could mix up to 10x bottles with cheaper ABS-like resins to get your perfect mix. cheers for the informative vid ol son from Sunny hot🥵 Downunder🙃

What an excellent video. I love seeing channels that produce high quality videos even though they're not intended for millions of views. I'm not so interested in fancy editing as I am good lighting, good audio, clear annunciation, and an efficient and organized presentation of the information. Perfect 10 in all categories. I'm looking for a 3D printing flexible resin but I need much faster rebound than any resin I've seen. I may be able to play some tricks with the geometry, but I don't think there's a resin for my application yet.
